They're pretty! But the problem is, I'm after something specific. Here are the boots I lost:

American Duchess Balmorals, now discontinued

they had this wonderful cotton sateen upper that clung to the foot in a way that made it really supportive. They had an oval toe that wasn't too far extended past the foot, or too pointed, or too square. They had a sole that didn't stick out around the sides of the boot, which made it look very graceful. They had a low French heel. They were EVERYTHING I wanted in a Victorian boot

and they were among the only shoes in this style that AD did. I think the Renoirs may be similar, but in leather and you have to move the buttons to make them fit as perfectly as the Balmorals did just by lacing them up. the Floras definitely are, but I already have a pair and you have to take great care with them not to get the embroidery stained. I may break and buy some Renoirs at some point just to get even close to the shape in a more practical material

it's a more mid-19th century boot style and nobody else seems to do it

I think it's very strange that the height of feminine fashion went from being dictated largely by, as you say, adult women to teenagers. This might be changing, but there was definitely a long period where, once a woman hit 30, she was expected to start dressing in "mom clothes." Meaning, extremely basic outfits in conservative cuts with little in the way of visual interest.

How I feel about this character: i like eleanor a great deal. she’s funny and outspoken and crafty, and i love her development from arizona trashbag to someone who will make the sacrifice play for her friends and genuinely wants to help people 

All the people I ship romantically with this character: chidi, tahani

My non-romantic OTP for this character: michael and eleanor have a beautiful friendship

My unpopular opinion about this character: it’s great that she’s very clearly bi but it sucks that so far it’s just been the occasional remark about an attractive woman………..and not showing/referencing an ex-girlfriend or letting her say bisexual/bi on tv (i don’t think this is unpopular but i def think many people are less bothered by this) 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: LET HER BE BI!!! also i’m glad they let her keep her memories this time around, please no more resets

so anyway in general i have feelings about marvel characters accidentally winding up in Westeros because why not but part of me thinks Kate/Sansa works better in the medieval version of Kate? The one that’s literally out there being Robin Hood

so like. 

Hawkeye is the terror of the Lannister army. she and her band of merry men are fast, attacking troops and stealing things–weapons, food, coin–and gone before anyone is the wiser. Nobody knows what she looks like, or that she’s a she.

There’s just a story, of a man who steals from the rich and gives that to those the army has taken from. A man who stands between the army and the smallfolk they would harm, with a bow and arrows and a purple cloak.

Sansa knows better than to put stock in such tales, to daydream about handsome knights, but the story takes root in her mind and offers her–not comfort, exactly, but a small happiness. That someone is out there, doing something. It makes Sansa envious. 

And then one night, as they are making their way from the Vale to…where, Sansa isn’t sure, a cry goes up that someone has killed Littlefinger. 

The next thing Sansa knows there is a hulking knight collapsed in a pile in her tent, groaning and–from what Sansa can tell–bleeding.

“Are you Hawkeye?” Sansa whispers.

The knight groans, and removes his helmet–

And reveals one of the loveliest women Sansa has ever seen. Familiar, too, Sansa recalls seeing her–she’s that man, Derek Bishop’s daughter. A fickle bannerman of the north.

“Are you Hawkeye?” Sansa asks again, louder.

“I’ll be dead if you say that again,” the woman groans. She has a sword at her side, a bow across her back, and a sack that looks to be full of the valuables Littlefinger kept in his tent. 

And Sansa–well, she knows a few things about hiding who you are, and she makes quick work of divesting the woman of her armor. Sansa hides the armor, the weapons, the gold in her trunks, under her bed, wherever she can manage and shoves the lady-turned-bandit into a dress. It’s too big for her, of course, she’s not nearly as tall as Sansa, but it’s enough, and Sansa manages to convince the knights who come inquiring that Hawkeye is a maid who was frightened of all the commotion.

(in a week or so, when Hawkeye is healed enough to leave, Sansa will help her back into her armor, and just before she puts her helmet back on, she will whisper “My name is not Alayne Stone–it’s Sansa Stark,” into Hawkeye’s ear. 

“My name is Kate,” she will say, and then Sansa will press a kiss to her lips. 

It’s a nice kiss. The nicest Sansa’s ever had, soft and sweet. Sansa tangles her fingers in Kate’s long dark hair.

“I’ll come back to you,” Kate promises, breathless.

And she does.)

the character i least understand: maybe melisandre because there’s a lot of mystery around her? 

interactions i enjoyed the most: jaime and brienne have some good ones. jon and ygritte too. and jon and arya and robb (and all the other stark siblings) though we haven’t had much between them for a long time. there are probably some i’m forgetting too…

the character who scares me the most: i wouldn’t say i’m scared of them (unless they existed) but any of the people who have a lot of power and wield it in cruel ways. especially those who aren’t POV characters because we see the vulnerabiliies of POV characters but people like tywin and ramsay? we just see their cruelty

the character who is mostly like me: ………..i spent a long time thinking about this and i have no idea

hottest looks character: hmmm jon snow has a very good face

one thing i dislike about my fave character: sansa’s treatment of Arya and Jon in the beginning but she’s grown so much since then and i look forwards to her reunion with them

one thing i like about my hated character: there is nothing to like about joffrey or tywin or petyr or ramsay snow except that two of them are dead. can that be the thing i like about them? am i completely missing the point of this activity? 

a quote or scene that haunts me: the red wedding and all its horrific sadness. i did not see that coming at all and it DEVASTATED me when i first read it. also ned’s execution which always feels like a turning point; anyone, even the good people, even the ones who are main protagonists, can die. 

a death that left me indifferent: i’m sure there are plenty of characters who have died and i didn’t care, but my mind is blank. probably because i’ve forgotten about them. hence the indifference. it’s been a LONG time since i read these books.... oh i just remembered that robert baratheon died. i didn’t really care about that death!

a character i wish died but didn’t; petyr baelish can go die in a hole. and hey, there’s still plenty of time left for him to do just that!!!  

my ship that never sailed: sansa/margaery. while there’s still time left in the books, i’m skeptical of grrm going in that direction 

Elementary (i’m behind on this show, only up to the end of season 3, i really need to catch up some time)

the character i least understand: i feel like i understand all the characters to some extent because they’re so well-written, their actions make sense with what we know about them. but if i have to choose... moriarity i suppose

interactions i enjoyed the most: sherlock and joan, of course! their interactions and their development (both as partners and as people and how they develop as a result of the other) are what make the show so good

the character who scares me the most: moriarity. i love her a lot and she’s absolutely terrifying 

the character who is mostly like me: again, i’m not sure. i don’t think i’m like anyone on this show though i also think i share some characteristics with most of the characters. joan is my role model and i aspire to be as amazing and confident as she is. i like to think i share some level of her intelligence and compassion. but then i’m also like sherlock, in that i don’t talk about my feelings ever. though i’m probably more joan than sherlock? 

hottest looks character: joan! lucy liu is beautiful

one thing i dislike about my fave character: what do i dislike about the wonderful joan? she’s into mycroft? does that count?

one thing i like about my hated character: from the recurring characters, my least favorite is mycroft. and my favorite thing about him is that he decides to try reconciling with sherlock, showing a certain degree of determination (in that he doesn’t just give up when sherlock is difficult) and care for his brother

a quote or scene that haunts me: when sherlock names bees after watson!!!! and whenever he talks about how joan is exceptional or how he’s changed due to her. and when she talks about falling into his orbit. and the last scene between kitty and sherlock, that was such a good scene and it hit me hard

a death that left me indifferent: any of the regular case-of-the-week deaths

a character i wish died but didn’t: don’t really have a death list for this show but i also would have been okay with mycroft dying

Sweet innocent baby Tango is Cinderella. Chowder is the Fairy Godparent. April and March are the Stepsisters. Farmer is the Stepmother. Do they cast all the characters? I've never seen Disney on Ice. I would say Nursey and Dex are the Stepbrothers, but Dex is obviously the pumpkin. Nursey can be the King's consort and look fab and gossip at the ball.

Hahaha oh nooo, the volleyball girls as the evil characters!! But it’s all just ~acting~ so of course they’re sweethearts.

The last time I saw a Disney on Ice show was ages ago, so I don’t really remember if they cast all the characters. But hey this is fic so why the hell not!
