“Afraid of Wanting to be Pretty”

This is a song I wrote for my girlfriend about 4 years ago. I just found the lyrics and decided to record it. :) Please ignore my iffy ukulele skills.

I have neglected this dream journal for a while but I decided to start it up again because I’ve been working on my lucid dreaming skills. I’ve had quite a few recently! Before recently, I was never able to control anything other than myself in lucid dreams, but I’ve been experimenting and getting better at manipulating my environment.

The other day, I had a lucid dream that I was in a sparse, mostly abandoned, Las Vegas inspired carnival with Mark, my girlfriend’s brother. I knew I was dreaming because I could fly. We were about to go into a haunted house, and I love haunted houses in real life, but I was worried it might turn into a nightmare. I turned away from the door, said out loud, “I don’t want to go to a haunted house. I want to go to a musical. And I want it to be Cabaret.” I turned around and the haunted house was now a theatre with a huge marquee that said, “Cabaret!”
