I think I've cracked the RPG code (at least shows for public availability) on villains. The DM differentiates if a villain is supposed to be scary or just evil based on if they would fall for 'Loser says what'. Almost all show-resembling RPGs are comedies and by comedians and there is nothing funnier than your powerful enemy falling for a 'Loser says what'. The only reason a comedian would turn down that joke is if it would ruin the immersion and/or characterisation. I can't prove it, but I firmly believe it. Akarot would fall for it, but Thiala wouldn't. Porter would (and did) fall for it, but Kalina wouldn't. Bill would, but Willy wouldn't. Lucas would, but The Hunger wouldn't.
