Do you believe in a life purpose? Do you believe that you have a life purpose? Do you believe that all living beings have a life purpose?Do you believe that this waterfall has a life purpose? The rocks? The moss? The plants? The water? . For years, I have contemplated my life purpose. Filling my head with answerless questions, like “what is my life purpose?” and “am I living my life’s purpose?” Every time I have felt like I found my life purpose, I would exclaim to myself, “yes, this is definitely my life purpose. Now I have found it.” Only to at some point have that life purpose shifted, abandoned, and changed. I wrapped myself up so tightly in my search for a life purpose that I cut myself off from the very truth of life. That truth is that the sole purpose of life is life; living. There is no sole purpose in life for me. There is no purpose for me to live; no God sent path or destiny for me to live. There is just me living. It is that simple. . I believe that we have come to grossly entangle ourselves in the idea that we must live some grandiose purpose, and that we must fulfill that purpose in order to be something, in order to be someone important; in order to achieve our greatness, or worth, or spiritual fulfillment. This complicated all of life as we know it. Instead of just fulfilling our simple purpose of life by living, we set rules and barriers that we must adhere to and follow in order to finally reach a life where we consider ourselves as fulfilled. . I realize now that I am much like the waterfall in this picture. A moment in time, and life in motion. That is it. My purpose is to live. My purpose is to be the moment. Nothing more, and nothing less. . I hope that more people will come to relinquish this burden and shed the weight that is needing to live some universal purpose. You were born, and now you live. This is your purpose. . Namaste. #enjoylife #getoutdoors #getoutside #thewrittenwild #waterfalls #nature #justbe (at Mount Wilson)
