Hello! Love your blog and deeply appreciate the time you put into this. Is Orthodox Judaism adapting to become (more) accepting of gay people, as Reform Judaism and several denominations of Christianity have? I know this will vary by community, but was wondering if any/many were and/or were adapting in other ways to modern life? Thanks again!

There’s a lot of Jewish communities outside Reform and Orthodox who might want to chime in about how their own communities view LGBTQ issues and interface with modern secular society. In addition, different communities and strands of thought within Orthodox Judaisms have different approaches to both LGBTQ issues and to their interface with modern secular society. I don’t know that everyone would view LGBTQ issues and modern secular influence to be comparable, although I suspect some will.
I know this is a big question, and so I’ll remind folks reading this post that they don’t have to answer if they don’t have the energy. There are so many lovely respondents to this blog, and someone else from a community like yours is likely to be on here, reading this post, and having the energy to make similar points. If you’re really tired right now but want to answer, or what to “sleep on” what you have to say, drafts is also a wonderful feature.
