I think we’ve all been there at some point, particularly when what you ‘normally’ contribute feels more difficult to achieve. I was worried I’d never write Robron again until Robert week came along lol. I know everyone says it and it’s boring to hear, but it really works - worry less. Enjoy the process for you and eventually(!) it’ll pick up again. Much like Aaron is about to say to Robert, you have to do it for the right reasons (ie. yourself first) ;)

You’re absolutely right, I need to get better at writing because I enjoy it rather than because I think people expect it.

in, you learnt some valuable stuff about yourself! I've had some shitty full time jobs and although I'm now part-time, it's a job I really like and that honestly counts for a lot in this world :) It sounds like you've definitely made the right decision. The biggest one was quitting your old job. Now you're free to find one that's a lot more for you. :)

The fact that you didn't know about the job in full is down to them and a miscommunication issue. Maybe you moving on will actually help them in realising that need to improve that too. There's been issues in my shop where the manager picked the wrong people for the job because they weren't aware of what was required and it does just make everyone awkward and miserable, so you're definitely doing the right thing by cutting your losses. It's a bonus that less than a week

I already have an update! Literally after I responded to your last replies (like literally after I pressed “post”) my phone rung and it was Carol and honestly she was so so lovely? And it was like she knew already that I wasn’t comfortable? I explained how I felt and she couldn’t be more understanding, she was just like “it’s not the end of the world, if it’s not for you it’s not for you, you shouldn’t be unhappy about it” and she said she’d already sorted cover for Saturday, like I think the lady I worked with yesterday (Jane) must’ve mentioned I’d said I was anxious because she said she would cover for me. Carol was also like “it’s fine, I can work tomorrow morning for you” and I said “no no, you don’t have to do that, I’m more than happy to come in, I don’t want to leave you in the lurch” and she said she’d appreciate that, that I could do tomorrow, but then not to worry after that as they have it covered.

And she said “you weren’t aware there was kitchen work were you?” and I said no, and she then said “that’s probably David’s fault, or mine, we should’ve explained it better” so like she totally held her hands up to the miscommunication which I really really appreciated.

And she wished me luck for my interview tomorrow afternoon and said she hoped it’d be more my cup of tea! So honestly I just feel so relieved, she couldn’t have been nicer and it really didn’t seem like a big deal to them at all which is such a relief as I didn’t want to like screw them over.

So I just have three hours to work tomorrow morning and then that’s it. It’s such a weight off my shoulders!

I’m so happy you’ve managed to find a job that makes you happy! I really hope my interview tomorrow goes well, hopefully it’ll be more my area of expertise!
