Okay so I’ve been reviewing the legendary Topanaga/Farkle chat from Girl Meets Bear and honestly I’m so confused?? I feel like there’s a big theory here but I’m honestly so full of questions that I don’t know where to begin. For example...
What made him ask that?? Is he concerned about his own personal growth?? Cause as far as I know there have been zero hints that Farkle is unhappy with Farkle 2.0. Is he having some inner debate we don’t know about?? Is it the classic feelings vs science debacle or something else?? What is he unsure about?? It’s not Smackle is it????Â
BUT THEN he switches the conversation over to Riley and her bear:
and they just talked about how their past selves are still a part of them and helped them get to where they are now. He’s saying that the bear is a part of Riley’s scrapbook. Putting this in the context of his earlier question makes me think that he’s worried about if RILEY is growing in the right way?? Does he think she’s gone astray and hoping the bear will center her again?? Why would he think that?? (hint: *cough* Lucas *cough*)
BUT THEENNNN Topanga talks about how they are looking for “The last ripped up, raggedy piece of Riley’s childhood” because...
Okay so you don’t want Riley to grow up that makes sense you’re her mom.
This like FILLS the boy with DETERMINATION to find her bear and I’m like?? But why?? Did he and Topanga not just have a very successful conversation about growing out of stuff?? And how the bear was Riley's childhood?? Why doesn’t he want Riley to grow up all of the sudden?? I feel like that’s uncharacteristic?? Like doesn’t he always want what’s best for her?? Sure he paid dues to the Riley Committee but he’s always wanting her to be realistic and tell the truth and stuff?? and to grow?? Is this because he wants Old Riley™ back or what?? I guess he could just want Riley to be happy as usual what with his “How are we gonna tell Riley?” and the way he said “No. Sorry..” when she asked him if he found it (STAB ME IN THE SOUL WHY DONT YA) but I feel like there’s more to it because otherwise, why include all the scrapbook talk and a sudddenly determined Farkle??
IN CONCLUSION.... what are they trying to say here?? Farkle what are your Motives™ I dONT GET IT??
