4. A goodbye letter

     £—Jem knew his life was nearing its end yet he had so much he wanted to say, so much he wanted to do with the women he loved so dearly. It wasn’t fair for either of them that this disease had to part them forever, he knew Tessa would get over him and move on however he knew from when he even proposed that it was unfair to her to expect a partner to be with for the rest of her life however their love was way to short lived.     A sad sigh escaped the pale boys soft lips as he sat up weakly in bed reaching over to grab his note book and feather pen to write with. A goodbye letter sounded like a good idea, therefore she would always know what he was thinking, she would know how important she was to him and how he will still be with her always. Biting down on his lip he thought a moment before he began to write;

Dear my lovely, lovely Tessa,      If you are reading this then I have probably passed on and I am so sorry that you have to suffer however I hope after reading this you can move on but still keep me somewhere in your heart.     There are many things I wanted to say to you however I never seemed to get the chance whether it be I was too ill or we were off fighting demons or clockwork monsters or perhaps I was just too much of a chicken to tell you them at the time. Now.. I see why I shouldn’t tell you, you deserve to know how I thought about you.             How much I loved you.     Tessa from the moment I saw you, when you came into my room the very first night while I was playing my violin I was startled to think an angel had come to answer my prayers. I know, as cheesy as it sounds it is true, I had been going through a rough day and when I saw you I thought perhaps things would be better.     And they were, around you. I felt a million times better whenever you were with me, your beauty and wit, how strong of a woman you had grown to become. Everything about you made me fall hopelessly in love with you.     You gave me hope that I would make it when things seemed impossible, you didn’t treat me like a patient but like a friend, like a lover, something I did not receive from many people. Tessa I wish I was healthy so that I could live with you, give you everything that you ever wanted, be there for you when you’re upset as you have been there for me.          I love you so so much Tess… And I’m so sorry.     No matter what anyone says, you are beautiful and unique, one of a kind and any man after me is lucky to be with you, for I would give anything to be in their place.     Tell William I love him too and that you two can be together without feeling guilty, for if both of you are happy then that is all I can ask for.     Wo ai ni, Tessa.-James Carstairs    Ps.
