A New Life || Tessa and Jem
A small laugh came from her and she nodded, shifting closer to him on the bed. “I am glad to hear that. I know that you are still getting used to things and I have somewhat exhausted you with my incessant chatter about modern things.” It had been a sight to see when Tessa had handed Jem a cell phone just a few days before. The man had had no idea what he was doing with it but he had always been smart. It had taken only a few times for Tessa to show him how to use it but he didn’t do so often. She suspected that he was still weary of it and she couldn’t blame him. He was new to such technology and had not been part of the outside world like she had. Tessa had had the time to get used to the changes of society and the modern technologies that came with the years.
Leaning over, Tessa pressed a kiss to his forehead and smiled against it. “It is a fine place to stay until we have found another arrangement. I have to admit that I have not done much to make contact with Jace…it just seems…odd.” Though he did not look like Will or even Jamie, the golden eyes that had been passed onto him were that of Jamie’s. The only other Herondale to have gained the strange genetic. “It is amazing to see how the Lightwoods of changed,” she smiled. “It almost makes me want to smile that they’re son is dating not only another man but a Downworlder at that. I am sure that it has Maryse and Robert in a complete fit.”
He couldn't hold back the soft smile that slid across his expression at the sound of that laugh no matter how small. He simply reveled in every soft expression, every touch. He shifted along with her, settling in a little closer beside her. "I'm still adjusting" He admitted with a hum "However, i would listen to you chatter no matter how incessantly you may talk. And even if i have very little understanding of how things work." He said with a slight shake of his head. Though that was sort of an overstatement. He'd picked up things rather quickly and now could operate the cell phone she'd given him. Even if he was still a bit cautious about it all. Everything was so different. And it wasn't as if Silent Brothers were given modern technology. The smile on his face only grew as lips pressed against his skin. He took the liberty of wrapping an arm about her. And leaning his forehead against hers. "It is a fine place indeed." He hummed softly lifting a hand to brush some hair from his face "The fact that he is indeed a herondale was only discovered fairly recently, my love. You can't have been expected to make contact immediately." Without having to define what she meant he understood perfectly. "A bit yes." He said with a soft smile "It is, do they not remind you of Will and Cecily? Especially Alexander with the blue eyes of his. He looks very much like Will." he said with a fain almost wistful smile "Oh i am certain of it. Robert asked me when i was still a silent brother if there was something Alexander could take to...cure him so to speak. I told him no such thing existed." He said with a shake of his head. "If i remember correctly Isabelle is seeing a lot of the vampire, the daylighter. It seems the new generation of Lightwoods are much more open minded"
