now. i got this number off the bsd wiki because i can't find a translation of rimbaud's profile in the third official guidebook, but according to that, rimbaud was 27 at the time of the 15 era.

the suribachi explosion happened 8ish-9ish years prior, putting rimbaud at about 19 at the time.

which? following this, rimbaud and verlaine met when rimbaud was 15. quoting rimbaud's journal, before this verlaine, aka black no. 12, had been "pan's guard dog."

now, parallels time. first of all, the obvious, fifteen goddamn years old.

though verlaine's case was much more violent and also shitty in general, technically speaking chuuya was also relieved from being the sheep's guard dog at 15. by dazai. as verlaine was aided by rimbaud.

there's something to be said about rimbaud's constant insistence that verlaine is human despite the evidence compared with dazai's assertion chuuya is human throughout stormbringer as well, but that's a given
