Marinette fans spent years caring about nothing but her, constantly dragging every other character to cover for her mistakes, throwing everyone else under the bus, and using other characters as scapegoats. They talked shit about Adrien and Alya for years, insulted Adrien at every given opportunity, made his traumas somehow always about Marinette, sidelined him, and acted like he's the worst person alive (for not kissing her ass, for not being her Yes Man, for not falling madly in love with her when she and her fuck ass friends spent all their time scheming to make him fall for her) and doesn't even deserve her, all while downplaying every creepy thing Marinette has done to him.
And then, the moment she starts acting increasingly like Gabriel Agreste 2.0 and people begin raising their eyebrows at her character, suddenly they start crying.
Suddenly it's a crime to only like one character, especially if it's Adrien? They will only care about Marinette, and will say all kinds of horrible things about other characters, and then try to talk about liking only Adrien as it's a crime lol
Well, yeah. I don't care about Marinette in canon. And I think Adrien is too good for her and deserves someone better than a person who has contributed to his abuse, refused to treat him like an actual person, and manipulated and gaslighted him.
Like... yeah, duh? Why would an Adrien fan be obligated to like her at this point when both she and her fans treat him like shit?
