The group (family road trip style) begin their adventure by visiting The Four Corners Monument from the direction of Arizona.  While watching the news, Bobby hears about “mysterious disappearances” surrounding the monument; Newscasters simply say “People keep disappearing”.  Rowan and Jet are just excited to be sightseeing.  Even Lilith seems mildly interested, which is a lot to ask from her.

Jet receives his vision as destiny's plaything, warning him of bright lights in the desert.

The first person they meet is David Jones the motorcycle riding cop.  He is bored at his new assignment of guarding the monument.  Nothing has happened the last two days; he is tired and hot.

Jet immediately takes his scythe into the desert, plants it into the ground, and tries to ditch it.

Rowan tries to talk to a strange couple with full jean outfits, but somehow manages to offend the crazies.

Bobby suggests they ask the police station for missing people reports, which they actually manage to get using their special weapon: Lilith.  Lilith turns on the charm and convinces the secretary Barbra Oden to give them some of the missing person paperwork, allowing the team to find a pattern in the kidnappings: small children and tourists.

With their newfound knowledge, they head back to the monument.  The odd couple from before now have signs that read “They’re out there!” and “Beware the Aliens!”.  However, more interestingly, Officer Jones is now joined by another cop Officer Jane Whitbeck, who is yelling at Jones.  Upon further investigation from Bobby, the team learns that a 10 year old boy Thomas Hudson has disappeared.  After hearing this, Bobby locates and questions the mother Sarah Hudson.  Sarah says the last time she saw Thomas he was wondering a little to far into the desert but not enough to raise alarm.  There was a bright flash and that was the last she saw of him.

Lilith and Jet try to gain information from the odd couple, learning their names: Barney and Betty Hill.  The couple tells about how they were abducted in 1961 by “The Greys”.  Betty says these creatures “didn’t breathe”.  Barney mentions the only safe place is in their bunker, a little ways into the desert, and he invites the team to stay with them.  Jet declines and shares the information with the team.
