12. Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?

I’m torn between Draco and Harry, but I’m gonna say Harry. Because I love writing about feelings, and I take inspiration in my own feelings, and I feel like his character represents a lot of the things I have gone through and felt throughout my life, so it’s easy to feel in tune with his inner monologue, his struggles, his reactions... at least of my version of him, of course! Funnily enough, I didn’t relate to him too much when I read the HP books 😂

23. Do you prefer listening to music while you’re writing or do you need silence?

I definitely prefer writing with music! Some days I’ll turn it off because I’m less focused, but those are the exceptions 

33. What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?

The biggest? I can’t name only one! 

I have been told that my fics made people feel represented and visibilized (ie trans and ace characters, chadracters with mental illnesses and trauma), and that I’ve made people feel validated, understood, represented, and less alone. I canNOT express what these comments mean to me. There are no words. I treasure every one of them 😭

I’ve gotten comments saying my poetry/drabbles made people feel things, which is one of the most satisfying things about writing for me! I love long stories, and plot, and slow burn, but... the magic of condensing a story, from beginning to end, in a few hundred words? And getting to your readers with it? This has always been, and probably will always be, my goal in life as a writer :)

In the past few days, since my memefic got revealed on the owlpost collection, I have been getting THE MOST AMAZING comments ever (like seriously. People calling me a genius and the fic a masterpiece and ksgjlfgdkjbbfh *SCREAMS*) and???? how to cope with so much love without exploding in a million rainbow butterflies??

And a lot more, and I’m sad I can’t quote them all! But I want to take this chance to say THANK YOU to readers and send you all a few hearts 💕💗💙💜💖💛❤🧡💚 because you all make me so happy ;-;

3 - list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with. 

I’m only really a part of the HP fandom right now but I don’t think I really identify with any one character. I’m more of an amalgamation of a few, unless we want to go the other way and I’ll name a completely random character that’s only ever mentioned once or twice and never heard from again.

15 - five most influential books over your lifetime. 

This one is possibly the reason this ask has taken me hours to answer because the only books I really remember from my formative years are Harry Potter ones (It’s not a bad thing, I just know I read a lot more than that.)

Little Women I remember being the first book I read on my own all the way through that wasn’t one of the school books I was supposed to read. it was this little kind of pocket book and I loved it.

The Devil You Know by Mike Carey I read when I was around 16 and it kind of kicked me off with really liking urban fantasy and crime novels.

The ‘His Dark Materials’ Trilogy proved to me that I was capable of reading things other than Harry Potter when I was about 11 and obsessed and believed there was no other series in the world that could captivate me.

Twilight was also an incredibly influential book for me. It was one I read as part of my Media studies course while I was in college just before the first movie was released and it helped me understand a lot of things that are done differently between pages and screen but it also encouraged me not to give up writing which I was close to doing permanently at that point and essentially kept me going with it for a few more years until I dropped it

Company of Liars by Karen Maitland was a book I read at a hard time in  my life but it’s also one that opened me up to the idea of historical fiction which is something I never really considered before.

15 - Five most influential books over your lifetime.

Okay, I actually had to open my Goodreads account to check what I've read so far in my life and I've come up with the following five books that influenced my thinking the most...

a) Fahrenheit 451 by Ray BradburyIt's basically about how dangerous it is to limit and destroy our knowledge—highly dangerous to our culture and our own identity! Books shouldn't be banned or worse burned, they should be read and understood in context.

In a way, it's a manifesto against censorship.

b) 1984 by George OrwellI originally read this one because it's my year of birth, and was surprised at the content. It's still shockingly relevant today, what with the Government controlling the News, the way they think and speak in the book, and even changing historical events to fit their narrative.

Have a look at the world and then tell me that isn't happening right now to varying degree in different countries. "Fake News" anyone?

c) Time for Outrage: Indignez-Vous! by Stéphane HesselIt's a non-fictional book, pretty small even. Hessel himself has a very intriguing biography—Alsacien, escaped from concentration camps in WW2, was a member of the French Resistance, and after the war, he became an ambassador to the UN and kept fighting for peace and change for the better in the world. It's a touching plea and appeal to today's generation to fight for what they believe in, to use their anger in constructive ways, and never give up.

d) The Way Things Are by Lama Ole NydahlI identify as a Buddhist, although not practising at the moment. This book was a guidance in a moment I needed a new direction.

e) HP Series by JK RowlingI don't really have to explain this one, do I? I think, what I took away from the HP books is the fact that the world needs a little more empathy towards others.
