Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Sometimes when you have an album long enough it blends into the landscape of record spines on your shelf. Then one day when browsing your collection you're almost surprised to see you have it. I've been collecting now for around 8 years and this would have been one of the first albums in my collection. It's also probably the heaviest album in my collection. Double 180gram LPs with the thickest cardboard sleeves I've ever seen. The album itself is a classic and there's already been so much said about it that I don't know I could add anything interesting. I will instead point to two other related pieces of media. The first is the documentary about this movie "I am Trying to Break Your Heart" which has my favourite use of music in a film at the end when they play Pure Imagination. Second, The Conet Project. A collection of recordings of "Number Stations" which are mysterious radio broadcasts that tend to have voices reading code.
