A jagged tear in the land. A vast, shadowed army below.

After climbing beyond the clouds, Elias and Fawks witness the impossible: constellations bending, a colossal invisible gear moving across the heavens.

“You think maybe the Little Prince could be in one of these?” “That would’ve been nice…”

Then — freefall.

Chapter 8: Dreamstuff Morning breaks over Tarlmere. Red stands beneath the gate as Elias and Fawks walk toward the woods. Her voice carries softly behind them:

“Imagination is the very substance of this world.”

The quiet between endings and beginnings — that’s where Dreamstuff lives.

The inn was warm, alive, and full of laughter – until it wasn’t.

Beneath firelight and music, Elias begins to feel it: something watching.

And then, beyond the gate, a pale figure stands beneath the trees.

“I am dead… and so are you.”

This is where the story shifts – where the strange beauty of the Common Ground first reveals its shadow.

Rain that sings. Blossoms that fade in seconds.

Elias and Fawks find shelter in a strange town where exhaustion and kindness mingle — a place of quiet craft and unspoken magic beneath a tower that slowly turns.

It’s one of my favorite quieter moments in The Common Ground — where the surreal meets the human.
