For as far as she could see, there was nothing. No life. No movement. Nothing.
Well, there was sand. And rocks in a circle around her. Water too. But they didn’t understand her, they didn’t know her. They couldn’t help her.
Even though they were there, loneliness crept into every fibre of her being, emptiness left an abyss in her chest, and helplessness coated her mind in a thick mirage of inescapable thoughts.
Despite being surrounded by this beautiful island, in which some would call her lucky, she’d never felt so alone.
