Megumi wrapped his arms around you as tight as he can, as if you'll disappear if he met go just for second. It has been a year since Sukuna possessed his body, killing his sister and father figure. He buries his face into your chest as he cries silently, his frame trembling with every breath.
You rub comforting patterns on his back with your hand, running fingers through his hair with your other.
"I- I can't believe I killed them."
Megumi whispered between tears. Your heart clenches at the sight of your usually reserved boyfriend breaking down in your arms.
"Shh, baby, it's not your fault."
You spoke, kissing the crown of his head.
"He only used your hands, Megumi-"
"He used me."
You sigh softly, tears pricking your eyes. You held the trembling boy in your arms gently, doing all you can to give comfort.
"He used your body, darling. Not your will. You won't kill them, right?"
Megumi stays silent, pushing his face to your chest, seeking comfort."
"It's not your fault, Gumi."
You held Megumi until his soft sobs dies down into hiccups, before finally stopping at once. He keeps you close, weariness winning over him. You kiss Megumi's forehead and eyelids softly, giving him assurance.
"Everything will be okay, sweets."You whisper before succumbing to sleep, your boyfriend secured in your arms.
°•○
Megumi wakes up from his nap, feeling a little bit dizzy. He yawns, trying to shake off the groginess. Megumi looks up, seeing your sleeping face. You look really peaceful, Megumi doesn't have the heart to wake you up. He stares at you for God knows how long, before you stir up.
"Mhm… Gumi?"
"Hey."
"Do you sleep fine? No nightmares?"
"…yes. Thanks to you."
"Good."
You stretch a bit before wrapping your arms around Megumi again, feeling his comforting weight on you. The moment is filled with a tranquil silence, a contrast to the heavy atmosphere just the night before.
"Do you want chicken nanban? I'll request it to the cafeteria." you offered.
"You don't have to, it's okay."
"I insist. You need some treats from crying all night."
"…sorry."
"No baby it's alright."
Megumi pressed a kiss to your collarbone, a microscopic smile creeping to his lips.
"Okay, then. Thank you."
"You're welcome, hun."

You swung through the city, your limbs sore from fighting off a bunch of robbers that have weapons. Everytime you swing, the landed hits seem to resonate through your body again. Your chest feels tight. Your suit is dirty. Everything feels so overwhelming that you can't help but only think of one place: your boyfriend's apartment.
Megumi was studying in his room, headphones clamped on his ears before he felt his desk vibrate lightly. He sighed, taking off his headphones and opening the window beside his desk, seeing you sprawled on the emergency stairs.
"Let me guess, you tripped on the emergency stairs again?"
He asked with a flat voice, seemingly used to his superhero girlfriend's shenanigans. You huffed, forcing your arms to hold on Megumi's window sill to properly sit up. Megumi grabbed your arm, gently pulling you inside his bedroom and made you sat on his bed, in dirty suit and all.
"Hey, your girlfriend almost died," you protested.
"You'll survive."
Megumi grumbled. He took off your mask and threw it on his desk, running fingers through your messy hair. He then gets on his knees to be at the same eye level with you, carressing your cheek bone with one hand.
"Wait here, 'kay? I'll clean and patch you up."
He spoke. Megumi then left the room, leaving you alone.
°•○
Minutes passed, and Megumi's back. He found you asleep on his bed, exhaustion winning over your body and mind after the scents of comfort filled your nose. Megumi smiles softly, placing the aid kit and a small bowl of warm water and towel to the floor before gently shaking you awake.
"Wake up, [ ],"
"...mrrhh five more minutes..."
"Your bruises will feel worse then. C'mon,"
You whine, sitting up with half closed eyes, your mind still cloudy with sleep. Megumi carefully took your spidey suit off, making you wear one of his t-shirt and short pair of pants. With utmost care, he wiped off the dust on your skin with the towel soaked in warm water, applying soothing balms on your bruised skin.
Megumi then moved on to your hair, detangling every knots, combing it gently, and making sure it's nice and not tangled anymore. He knew how much you hate tangled hairs. Megumi guides you to lay down on the mattress, moving between your legs to massage your calves and thighs, feeling the muscles relax. He massaged your arms, shoulders, head, heck, even your wrists, especially at the spot where the web shoots out. He kissed that spot over and over, knowing that you probably overused it today.
"Mmh... lay down, Gumi,"
you requested, your half lidded eyes fighting to stay awake to see your boyfriend. Megumi kissed your wrists one last time, before he settled them down on your stomach.
"I'll turn off the lamp, okay? I'll join you after that,"
You nod, propping yourself on his mattress to find a comfortable position. After turning off the lamps and shutting the window, Megumi joined you on the bed, pulling the covers over the both of you. You quickly shuffle to find a spot between his arms, burying your face on his chest to seek warmth. Megumi chuckled softly. A low, deep, yet comforting sound that faintly reverberated through his chest. He kissed the crown of your forehead, easing you to sleep.

Kenma's side:
"Tell me why do I have to go with you..?"
Kenma sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as a voice yelled out 'level completed!' From his PSP. Kuroo, the one that had dragged Kenma out of his dungeon that he calls bedroom, only shrugged, his nose stuck in an encyclopedia book as they walked through the roads, heading to the cafe that the raven haired boy mentioned.
"Oh come one, Kenma. I promise it will be worth it!"
Kuroo reassured, lifting his face from the book, flashing his iconic smirk at Kenma.
"'Worth it' my ass."
Kenma mumbled as he rolled his eyes, focusing on his game. After a 10 minute walk, they arrived at a small café. There's nothing special about it. Just a small café between a music shop and a bakery. Even though it looks small, Kenma could smell the strong scent of grinded coffee beans from the entrance.
Kenma and Kuroo entered the café, and it's not as crowded as Kenma thought it will be. It's quiet, perfect for Kenma. His eyes scanned the place and lands on a booth by the window for 2, mentally choosing that specific booth as Kuroo ordered for them both. Kenma walks first, taking a seat so it doesn't get taken. After playing another level on his PSP to wait for Kuroo, Kenma felt a gaze land on him. As he looks up, he caught the gaze of a girl sitting on a single seat across him. The girl seems embarrassed when Kenma caught her, averting her gaze to the scattered papers on her table.
A girl...
A gorgeous one...
Kenma shook his head, snapping out of his trance before his thoughts wandered everywhere. After waiting for a bit, Kenma stole a glance at the girl.
Her eyes scanning her papers.
Her hand swiftly writing down notes.
Her hair framing her face perfectly.
Her cheeks tinted with red.
𝑯𝒆𝒓.
Kenma shook his head again, feeling an unusual warmth on his cheeks. '𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑰 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔?' Kenma thought. Just as Kenma started to overthink, Kuroo approaches and sits on the seat in front of Kenma, completely in the way of Kenma's view. Kenma clicked his tongue in annoyance, aggresively clicking the buttons on his PSP to ease his frustration. Kuroo looked at him with a big 'WTF' look at his sudden behavior.
"Dude, are you still mad about me dragging ya here?"
"I'm not mad."
"You are."
" 'm not."
Kuroo shook his head gently before reading his book again. Seeing the opportunity, Kenma looks over Kuroo to see the girl. She was burying her face in the palms her hands, her fingers massaging her scalp gently.
'𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅.' Kenma mumbled softly. Kuroo shifts his gaze up, seemingly catching what Kenma said. Kuroo looked at Kenma in confusion before looking back to see what Kenma is looking at.
"Kenma what are you staring at???"
Kuroo's words snapped me out of my trance. Kenma quickly averts his gaze down to his gaming device, his fingers desperately clicking on literally anything, trying to seem busy.
"Nothing."
Kenma answered shortly. Unfortunately, what he didn't realize is that his cheeks displayed a deep hue of crimson. Kuroo looked back again, smirking as he faced me. He had that annoying smirk, and Kenma made a mental not to never agree to Kuroo's doings again.
"My, my~ the shy setter has a crush on a stranger~"
Kenma felt his face warm up again. He is mentally kicking himself, cursing on why he have to look so obvious. For the next 20 minutes, Kenma remains silent as Kuroo teased him relentlessly, even when drinking their ordered drinks.
After finishing their drinks, Kuroo closed his book, standing up from his seat.
"C'mon, Kenma. Let's go home."
Kenma reluctantly stands up, following Kuroo to the cashier. He still wants to look at the girl, why go home now? (Wow such rare moment where Kenma doesn't want to go home). Near the cashier, Kenma tugged on Kuroo's jacket, forcing him to bend down a bit. Kenma whispered in Kuroo's ear: "𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝑰 𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓..?"
Kuroo looked at Kenma with a shocked look.
"...who?"
"You know who I'm talking about."
"The girl I teased you about earlier?"
"Yes."
"The girl I caught you staring at?"
"Yes..."
"The girl that's focused on her papers?"
"Goddangit- yes, Kuroo."
Kuroo gasped and clasped a hand on his mouth, holding back giggles that sounded like rats getting stepped at.
"Okay, Kenma. I'll help you~"
"...thanks."
After the cashier gave them their changes, they both walked towards the exit. When they walked past the girl's seat, Kuroo gave kenma a small, supporting nudge. Kenma hesitantly opens his mouth, before closing it and quickly dragging Kuroo out of the café. Kuroo looks at his best friend with furrowed eyebrows, trying to get Kenma to stop dragging him.
"I thought you want her number??"
"I'm scared she will get creeped out..."
"...alright then."
Kenma walked beside Kuroo in silence before freezing in his tracks.
"Ugh, what if we stayed longer? What if I actually has the courage to ask her? What if she wants to do the same? What if-"
Kuroo placed a hand on Kenma's shoulder, trying to ease the smaller boy.
"Hey, it's okay! Maybe we'll get to see her again."
Kenma nodded, feeling heavy hearted.
Home. The first place Kenma felt safe in. He is currently laying on his back, absentmindedly scrolling on his phone. He huffs and turns his phone off, looking blankly at the ceiling.
'𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒇 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒆.' Kenma thought. Just as he drifts to sleep, his phone vibrates violently. He clicked his tongue, taking the device and unlocking it. Oh, it was the volleyball gc.
Kai's message got stuck in Kenma's head.
I hope you can meet her again soon.
Meet her again, huh. Kenma pondered for a moment. If that can happen one day, then he will gladly wait as long as he could. He could get bored and give up, but hey, who knows?
The thoughts of the café girl filled Kenma's head, accompanying him until he drifts off to sleep.

It's evening. Time where the world seems like it was painted with golden. [ ] gazed out of the window, her gaze empty, a mug of hot chocolate in her hand. She was waiting for Kei to come home from volleyball practice. A few minutes later, Kei's car is parking in the garage. [ ] was zoning out when Kei entered the room.
"Good evening."
Kei greeted her. [ ] only answers with a soft hum, still gazing outside the window. Kei watches her as he threw his car keys to the kitchen counter. [ ] is wearing his hoodie— one that she stole 2 winters ago—wrapped inside her favorite soft blanket. Her dark brown hair caught the soft light of the sunset, highlighting her hair with a hue of gold. Her hand is twirling a strands of her hair. The hot chocolate mug in her other hand is still full and yet she doesn't drink it, only staring out the window despite knowing that her fiancé is already home.
Kei let out a soft exhale, mesmerized by the sight. He wishes for one thing— a camera with a magic film. A magic film where Kei could freely enter the captured moment and live there for a while. He was scared that he will forget how this moment feels— soft, tranquil, and warm.
Knowing that time will eventually pass, Kei grabs a Polaroid camera from his and [ ]'s shared bedroom and came back to the kitchen where [ ] is still seated. He positions himself, angling the camera and adjusting it, making sure it captured [ ] (the important figure) and the beautiful scenery behind the window. He captures the moment with a loud snap, startling [ ] from her state. As the camera prints the photo, [ ] watches Kei with a pout on her lips.
"Did you just take a photo of me?"
She asks.
"Yes."
He answers. [ ] whines softly, being childish (as always)
"Keiiii, you know that I'm not readyyyy… anyways can I see the photo?"
Kei hums as an answer, staring at the photo in his hands. He smirks softly. Yeah, he's definitely showing the photo much later.

"Man, I can't understand calculus!"
Bokuto whined, his fingers running through his spiky gray hair. It was lunch period, and unfortunately for Bokuto, he had a calculus test after lunch. [ ] sipped her strawberry milk from her milk carton, savouring the sweetness.
"I guess... All you could do is just pray for your scores, Ko"
[ ] spoke, nudging him with her elbow slightly to keep him from going to emo mode.
"Anyways- Enough calculus! I wanna chat with my bro Kuroo!"
He laughed, pulling his phone out from his blazer immediately.
[ ] couldn't get Bokuto sometimes. At one moment he could be very moody and depressed, and a second after that he turned into a big ball of sunshine. As he chatted, something piqued her interest. In one of his chats, the 'Kuroo' guy sent Bokuto a picture. And if [ ]'s eyes are sharp enough, the guy in the picture is the cute boy she saw at the café yesterday...
Her eyes widened at the realisation. [ ] tapped Bokuto's shoulder quickly, wanting to confirm that the boy in the picture was the boy she saw at the café yesterday.
"Eh?? [ ]-chan, are you okay? Your face is as pale as a ghost!"
Bokuto spoke worriedly. [ ] quickly smacked Bokuto on his shoulder, earning a whine from him.
"K- Ko! That guy. Pudding head guy!"
[ ] whisper-yelled, pointing at the guy in the photo. Bokuto looks at her and the photo in confusion.
"[ ]-chan..?"
"That guy, Ko! Who's he???"
"Which one..?"
"Ugh, the pudding head!"
"Ah, It's Kenma!"
[ ] grabbed Bokuto's arms, shaking him intensely.
"Tell me about him. Now!"
"[ ]-chan your grip hurts!!-"
As [ ] shook Bokuto with all her strength, Keiji walked in the classroom, holding a melon bread and stared at them like they're aliens.
"What are you guys doing,,?"
Keiji asked.
"[ ]- [ ]-chan is hurting me!-"
Bokuto whined. She quickly snatched Bokuto's phone and sprints to Keiji's side, zooming the photo to show Keiji the pudding head guy, or 'Kenma', as Bokuto referred. [ ] showed Keiji the photo, reading his face to see if he recognized 'Kenma'.
"Ah, it's Kenma-san"
Her jaw dropped faster than the speed of light.
"YOU KNOW HIM????"
She yelled. Keiji visibly winces and rubs his ear. With all her strength, [ ] grabbed his arms and glared at him.
"Keiji. That guy is the one I told you about. The guy in the cafe"
Silence fell over them. The only sound they're able to comprehend is the faint chatter from outside the classroom.
"Oh"
Keiji mumbled. Bokuto stares at them back and forth with furrowed eyebrows, trying to understand the situation.
19.08 PM
[ ] lays on her bed, staring up at the ceiling with a million thoughts running through her head. [ ] grabbed her phone and opened the group chat that contains her beautiful hyena friends.
[ ] Smiled. Even though her and her friends always argue over stupid things, [ ] wouldn't trade them with anything in the world. Her and her friends are each other's supporter and protector, there are no such duos in their group. Now that she thought about it, the universe has a million possibilities. I mean, who would know that the stranger you thought was cute is your friend's brother? Just as [ ] wanted to spiral in that thought, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Ryoki.
[ ]'s jaw dropped faster than the speed of light. Then, a very loud excited scream escapes her mouth, echoing in her room. [ ] kicks her legs against the mattress, her heart beating at such a ridiculous pace.
"Ohmygodohmygodohmygod I'm going on a DATE?? I can't mess this up- should I wear my striped sweater? Or that baggy jeans? oh wait I SHOULD-"
"-Stop screaming and waking the whole house up"
A voice spoke. [ ]'s smile vanished in an instant. She then slowly looks at her bedroom door, smiling sheepishly at the sight of the tired looking Keiji. The latter sighs exasperatedly before entering the room, taking a seat at the edge of [ ]'s twin sized mattress.
"What made you scream like that??"
Keiji questioned.
"KEIJI YOU'RE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS-"
[ ] quickly shoved her phone into her big brother's hands, showing the conversation she just had with Ryoki. Keiji took his time reading the messages one by one. Slowly, his eyes widened in surprise. Kenma agreed to go on a date? How odd.
"This is Kenma's little sister, right?"
"Yeah, I just found out today. What a coincidence! I really thought I wouldn't see that guy- Kenma again. I guess fate has its way."
[ ] sighed, leaning her head on Keiji's shoulder. The older Akaashi hands her phone back, still looking a bit shook.
"So, you're going on a date, huh?"
"Yesss!!"
"With Kenma?"
"Uhhh... Yeah?"
Keiji thought for a moment. It's not like he doesn't trust Kenma, he knows that Kenma wouldn't do anything weird. [ ] watched Keiji, her heart beating hard from nervousness. Since they were children, [ ] often relies on Keiji for making decisions (and since the last decision she made as a kid made her stuck on a tree). After a few seconds, Keiji nods.
"...alright. I'll drop you off."
"Oh my God thank you!-"
just as [ ] jumped off her bed to celebrate, Keiji extends his foot and purposely tripped [ ] before he bolted out of the room with a muffled laugh.

TW: mentions of slapping,
"I just... really miss your face."
Kei spoke. His face was cold, but his eyes held a hint of longing and desperation. He stares at the girl that sat beside him, still hoping for a slither of chance.
"Should've thought about that when you slapped me."
The girl muttered. Her tone was hushed, but icy. Her words pierced the tall blonde's heart, adding salt to the wound he didn't know existed.
2 days ago, [ ] and Kei had an argument. It started from something small. Kei had threw the watercolor painting [ ] spent hours on to the trash, thinking it was just random old art practice, while in reality it was supposed to be a highly paid commission from an online customer. The trash later got took out by [ ], thinking that her painting wasn't inside because it was under a stack of snack litters. When she found out about it, the couple fought. [ ] tries to ask him questions and interrogated him, but the timing wasn't right since Kei just got home from a particularly exhausting volleyball training. Both of them fought before resulting in Kei slapping her—hard, causing swelling and redness—on her cheek.
[ ] was stunned by this act, as Kei never showed her signs of hostility before. When Kei realizes what he just did, it was too late— she had stormed to the bathroom, locking herself in it. Kei internally panics. He never slapped her— what should he do? Despite the gnawing guilt on his heart, he chose to ignore it, choosing his ego before [ ], walking to his bedroom to take a nap. [ ] left his apartment the day after, staying at hers.
Now, the couple sat on a bench in the middle of a park, the space between them defining the situation that happened. Kei fiddle with his hand, while [ ] had her arms crossed in front of her chest, the slap mark on her cheek getting worse, bruising. Kei saw the bruise on her cheek. He caused that. He hurt her, the woman (after his mom and grandmother) he swore to protect and cherish for his life.
"Look, I-"
"We have nothing to discuss here, Kei Tsukishima."
[ ] cuts him off. Kei flinches at the use of his full name, so he quietly looks away. The atmosphere between them grew heavy—silence filled with regret, longing, and remorse.
Eventually, [ ] sighs, pinching the bridge off her nose in frustration.
"Okay— fine. We do have one thing."
She spoke.
"I'm moving to England soon."
Kei's heart sank at the news. He whips his head towards her, face contorted in panic. Without hesitation, he held both of [ ]'s hands, squeezing them to the point of pain.
"…What?! Why don't you tell me? Why are you going there? What are you gonna do? Why do you… leave?"
Kei bombarded her with questions. The cold mask is gone, replaced with raw fear and worry. Kei stares at her with disbelief—why didn't she tell him? [ ] looks away, trying to pull her hand out of his grip. Kei wasn't having it, he held her hand tightly, securing it on his palm. [ ] bit her lip, looking down at her small and slender hands wrapped in Kei's big ones.
"I got accepted in Cambridge University. I can't waste the opportunity, Kei."
Kei's grip and eyes soften. Cambridge University, huh? The university [ ] always dreamed to enroll in. She succeeded. Kei was supposed to be happy. He was supposed to congratulate her. Yet, why does he feel sad? Isn't he supposed to be happy?
"I- I suppose…"
He whispered. He reluctantly let go of [ ]'s hands, giving her space.
"When..?"
"1 week from now."
Kei swallows the bitter lump on his throat. One week left to spend with her girlfriend. Of course in the week where his volleyball and college schedule would be hectic as hell with a match coming up. Kei groans, contemplating to take a break from volleyball just for his love. But how could he? Coach wouldn't let anyone take a break when it's preparation week. He eventually sighs, one hand shyly grabbing [ ]'s, intertwining their fingers together.
"Look. I'm really sorry for everything. The painting, the argument, the slap, everything, [ ]. Everything."
He rambled, squeezing [ ]'s hand in his. [ ] stays silent, but this time, she didn't pull her hand away.
"I won't beg you to stay here because I know Cambridge is one of your desired university, but please,"
He pleads, voice uncharacteristically soft.
"Don't break up with me, okay? I promise I'll keep in touch while we're thousands of kilometers away. I'll Face Time you everyday if you want. Oh and- I'll spend the week for you. Just you."
He spoke, saying anything that comes to mind for long distance relationship needs. He gazes at [ ] with down turned eyes, as if trying to memorize her with all his might. [ ] hesitates, before looking up at him with her eyes, hope glinting in them.
"I won't force you to spend a full week with me, but will you give me one last kiss at the airport?"
She asks. Kei nods firmly, holding her hand with both of his.
"Absolutely, my love."
[ ] smiles, hugging him as she buries her face to his chest, absorbing his warmth. Kei hugs her back, keeping her close to him, trying to memorize how she felt in his embrace.
"You're forgiven."
°•○
07.50 AM. Kei promised her that he would meet her right now, but he is nowhere to be seen. [ ] softly groans in frustration, clutching her phone tightly, opening his contact.
"Attention please, Japan Airlines will take off in five minutes."
[ ] groans at the intercom, feet tapping anxiously on the floor as she patiently waits for Kei.
Meanwhile with Kei;
He was still half asleep when his alarm went crazy, the once soothing tune becoming super annoying. He had a rough practice last night, coach pulling off impossible drills. Annoyed, he picks his phone up before his eyes widen in shock.
"Meet the love of my life."
07.50
Kei jumps off his bed in panic, immediately taking off his pajamas and wearing his black long sleeve turtleneck, [ ]'s favorite. He quickly washes his face, wears his shoes and brown coat before sprinting out of his apartment. He literally ran to the airport, as the airport is close to his apartment. He hopes—wishes—that some miracle happened and the plane boards a bit later. It was 08.06 when he arrived. He searched the waiting room like a lost man, looking for his girlfriend. He whips out his phone—searching for [ ]'s contact.
Tears well in Kei's eyes. First, he hurt her. Second, he broke his own promise. Now she's gone. She's not in his embrace anymore. He won't hear her yap about her day. He won't hear her humming her favorite song. He won't feel her hugging him anymore. He won't see her smile at him anymore. A drop of tear escapes his eye and trails down to his cheek. He quickly wipes them away—trying hard to not seem pathetic—running back home.
°•○
01.34 AM, two days after.
Kei lays on his back, awake. Sleep becomes a bother again now that his loved one isn't by his side, or, isn't in the same country as him again. His eye bags got darker. His skin got paler. His frame is slightly lighter from how less he has eaten since [ ] left. Kei's hand holds his phone, the bright screen displaying his and [ ]'s chat. Tears well in his eyes again. Kei then sighs, turning his phone off and placing it on his chest. It hasn't been a full week, and Kei already missed her. He truly regret not spending more time with her. Regretting because he didn't fulfill his last promise. He cries that night. Full on ugly crying—sobbing, whimpering, messy hiccups. And now, [ ]'s not there to hug him and comfort him. Kei turns on his phone again, opening [ ]'s contact and starts to type with his shaky fingers.
