Social housing scheme in the London Borough of Brent - @cltharchitecture Visualisation by @darcstudio_ . "We have received planning consent for Morland Gardens, our 100% social housing scheme in the London Borough of Brent including 65 new council homes, a 2500m² state-of-the-art adult education centre with public café and 700m² of affordable workspace. Cllr Amer Agha, Cabinet Member for Schools, Employment & Skills said: “Given how Covid-19 has disproportionately affected Brent, both by case numbers and in its economic impact, this kind of new educational facility and the affordable workspace which will be provided, has never been needed more and so I’m very pleased that the committee voted in favour of the plans.” The socially focussed mixed use scheme will promote healthy living with more than 2,200m² of outdoor space provided in 3 large community gardens at podium and rooftop levels as well as designing the larger family units with private garden spaces opening out from each of their 3 floors. Art Complex in Santa Monica - Designed by @grimshawarch --- The new 21,000-square-foot arts complex for @smcedu in Southern California will serve as the western "gateway" for the school. Featuring walls made from white perforated metal screens and exposed structural beams, the building will be separated into three rectangular volumes connected by a central covered patio and several walkways.
