It's July 14th 1942 which is the day for the annual island party midsummers which was founded in 1938 it hasn't been a thing for many years but since it has the island has had a great time I'm waiting for my love jj maybank to Come and be my chaperone to this dance, We've been together for a year but we've know each other for all our lives ,he's also my brothers best friend which some people may call it scandalous, but this is love, he's my soulmate, the person I never thought I'd meet, he knows me more than I even know myself if that's even possible,
growing up I was terrified of love, thinking it would be a bad thing, but now here we are about to go to midsummers and waltz away with the love of my life , I love him more then life itself, if the world was gonna come crashing down he would be the only one I want, he is the only one I want ,he has my heart
"My lady" he says when he arrives to my house ,I'm standing outside my house he holds his hand out waiting for me to place mine in his hand ,like the gentleman he is he starts telling me compliments which make me blush " you look beautiful ruby" he whispers in my ear which makes me smile he always gives me compliments which make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world
"You look handsome j" I say leaning up to kiss his lips before we start walking to the dance talking about random things, a conversation is never missing , we are planing to meet my brother John b there with his girlfriend and our friends, we arrive and go to greet John b and our friends before we get a drink, we're all talking about our lives when jj asks me to dance, which I gladly accept we're waltzing around the ball room to the bands musical tune which is one of they're romantic ones, laughing along with jokes we've both said, life can't get much better then this it really can't, I'm literally in love with the boy, who is my soulmate, the other half of me
I'm so happy that this is my reality, that he is the person I'm spending the rest of my days with our love is infinite.
