It had been about five months since Xerath escaped from the tomb; much had changed in his absence, including the language. What was more, Azir had been revived and Ascended, as though fate itself were attempting to put yet another obstacle in his path... No matter. Xerath had control of Nerimazeth now, and was taking strides to remake the city in his image, as he would someday do for all Runeterra.

The Magus was overseeing this work himself, having his servants dismantle temples and reconstruct them for other purposes. Little did he realize that a stranger from the east had come to pay his city a visit during all of this...

The woman tilted her head to the side ever so slightly, intrigued by the stranger’s words.

Xolani quietly approached the Ascended, wondering what he was up to. She observed him for a while before asking the question, that has been on her mind for a while. “Have you ever visited the Kumungu jungles to gather knowledge?” She was curious whether or not an Ascended could rival the magic of the jungle. 

He knew someone was watching.  For the most part, he just ignored those people, as their intentions were never bad.  He could sense them slightly, just beyond the xer’sai territory.

Who approached him was a surprise.  Ixtal has been silent for so long...

“No, I have not.  Not since the country closed their borders,” he said.  “But, if you do not mind me asking, what are you doing beyond the borders?  I thought Ixtal was still in isolation.”

The passenger ship was slowly approaching Piltover. the City of Progress, a society of tomorrow that married the newest technology with the latest arcane research. Swain leaned on the railing of the ship’s deck, glancing around at other passengers merchants and families mostly. It was easy to tell which were locals coming home and who were foreigners. Piltovians fascination with tweed jackets, suspenders, top hats and various small mechanical devices made them stand out from more down-to-earth people around them. Fixing the pale tie of his blue pinstripe suit, the man looked around, noting how nobody was paying any attention to him. Excellent.

It felt odd, having shorter hair, and doubly so the unshaven chin. He’d not quite gotten used to the sensation of not having a smooth shave, but remaining incognito was paramount here and letting a few days pass without shave had given him a proper 5 o’clock shadow. When combined with his changed clothes and cut hair, nobody could tell him apart from some relatively conservatively dressed Piltovian. Or so Emilia had asserted.

Nearing the piers, the ship began to slow down pace and angle itself for docking. As expected, the crowd moved towards gates, preparing to disembark from the vessel. Time to go then. Throwing the leather-duffel bag on his shoulder, Jeremiah Corbeau slipped into the crowd as well. 

The beastman leaned back a little and scratched his head. He couldn't really be annoyed at her ignorance when she was being so kind and smiley about it. Damn she was a cutie too.

"You're a weirdo. You must be either from a very poor place, or very rich. And considering from your body stature and manner of speech...", he gave her one quick look again.

"I would guess you weren't a street rat no." Her accent was heavy but there was lack of idioms used by those that grew poor and uneducated. She had learned Ionian properly.

He eventually just shrugged.

"That's fine with me, but the matches start soon. I came down to find someone. I can give you a quick tour and then you can join me for the show. I think you gonna like it." There are two types of people. Those that like watching violence, and those that lie.

When the stranger scratched her fluffy head, the cat widened her shiny hues, staring at the Lunari to see her reaction toward the other girl. Did she consider her as a friend or an enemy?

Ernye, however, just raised both eyebrows in surprise, albeit the shadows were almost about to threateningly hiss at the white-haired woman but, since the Rakkor wasn’t scared of her, they retreated back.

«Aye, they are. It’s almost natural to me.»

She commented back, letting the female kitten lay down on her lap as the mama let the other pet her while sniffing and watching her carefully. As one of the kittens began to play with the fabric of her clothes, the black-haired woman cocked her head a little, still a bit suspicious about that one.

The person that was sitting in front of her was certainly odd. She had never seen someone like her before, which was specially weird considering that Piltover being the trade city of Runeterra, all kinds of people had gone through its streets, from Targonian traders to Freljordian warriors. This person, however, was a complete anomaly.

For starters, she had been arrested under the crime of using counterfeit gold, because it had neither Noxian, Shuriman or Piltover’s markings, but a small investigation on it made it clear that it was real gold, just with markings never seen before. Second, there was something about the girl, like she was trying to hide who she was, that most people probably didn’t notice but had rubbed Caitlyn the wrong way.

Regardless, she closed the folder of the investigation, putting it down to look directly at the supposed criminal. “Good day to you, my name is Caitlyn Ferros, I am the sheriff of this city, think of it as a knight that enforces the laws” She clarified, as she often had to do for foreigners “Reading this report you’ve been charged with using fake gold coins, but I do believe there’s more to this story. So please, why don’t you tell me your name and your side of the story.”
