#the pitfall

Hey there anon! 

I suppose I can let you all in on some inside info since I’m not sure if I will ever be able to finish The Unraveling. 

Draco and Harry become partners in the Auror department. and become really close. They are sent to round up all the remaining Death Eaters in hiding. (including Theo’s father)  Draco is contacted by Bastien while he is on a mission and he tries to figure out his plans while simultaneously trying to protect everyone he cares about. Hermione has the baby and it causes them to reunite after a brief complication. 

Theo teams up with Bastien after his father is arrested and tells him everything about Hermione and how her child is Draco’s. Basiten then uses this against Draco and has Theo kidnap the baby in order to get what he wants. (which is Draco fully and completely on his side and help him take over the Auror Office and eventually the Ministry.) 

There are fights. Unbreakable vows, badass Harry. Badass Hermione. Cute father!Draco moments and Blaise and Luna get married. 

The Pitfall by: bentnotbroken1 - Rated: M - 31 Chapters (COMPLETE) - Summary: “I…I love Ron.” His lips brushed against her ear as he breathed softly, “Then tell me to stop.” They thought the war was over. Little Ok they know it was only just beginning.

If I was to summarize it further: 

Post-war. Practically everyone’s back at Hogwarts for the summer, after the castle is fixed. 8th years all live together in an new addition to the castle together, away from the other houses.

Draco and Pansy have a relationship based on sex only. Hermione is dating Ron, but they haven’t done more than snog (she’s a virgin).

Mean/Cruel Ron (on his way to acquiring a serious liver problem, given all the drinking he does) breaks up with Hermione while drunk. 

Draco overhears that conversation & they share a bottle of whisky after the break-up. They talk. They drink too much. They snog. They end up in the RoR. They have sex.

Hermione has morning-after blackout regret (can’t remember it well, horrified that it went that far). They agree not to tell anyone and go their separate ways.

Draco can’t let it go, though, and begins pursuing Hermione. Of course, she’s against it - at first. Eventually, she decides sex without strings is just what the doctor ordered.

There’s a secondary plot with Lucius going on - won’t give that away here. 

The sex is explicit and HOT.

There are quite a bit darker themes in this tale: blood prejudice, bullying, dubious-consent sex (sex while drunk, issues with Draco not respecting the word ‘no’ from Hermione and physically jumping her to force intimacy), sex that is constantly regretted afterwards, slut-shaming (Draco for Pansy, Hermione towards other girls), OOC-ness, and Ron-bashing and Pansy-bashing. 

It’s a fun and sexy 8th year tale. Read it. Trust me. :)

“Draco. It’s time to stop lying!” Narcissa suddenly snapped, ripping the paper out of his hands. “Those rumors, they were true, weren’t they? That child is yours. I kno-” Her voice cut off, muted by a silent spell.

She stared at her son, her blue eyes ablaze with confusion. His own silver orbs were glaring at her, his jaw clenched. “I’d keep that to yourself if I were you.” He said his tone threatening. “You never know who could be listening.”

Summary: 

While training to become an Auror, Draco faces more than just old rivalries and newfound duties. He knows darkness is coming from more than one side, preparing to unravel everything he's worked so hard for but he will stop at nothing to stand in its way. Self-appointed double agent wasn't exactly on his list of future prospects, but he'll do whatever it takes to protect the one's he loves.

With the new year comes new responsibilities for Hermione Granger. She's feeling more secure in her decisions and for the first time in a long time, she is content. And while the baby's due date looms she knows that with the help of Luna, Blaise, and Ginny she can overcome anything that this life throws at her. She just wishes she could leave her feelings for Draco in the past.

(This fic is my first Dramione and I just love it)
