Hello there, would anyone like to discuss the fact that Crowley's pre- and mis-quoting of Shakespeare at the Globe may or may not be a reference to Julian and Sandy from Around the Horne?? (Julian and Sandy being very camp gay-coded characters who popularized Polari in the 1960s by speaking it on a widely-heard radio comedy.)
(from Fabulosa! by Paul Baker -- *the* book about Polari that I'm reading atm)
[Text from book says in part: "And earlier in that sketch Sandy joyfully exclaims, 'Oh though, oh time has not withered nor custom staled his infinite variety', paraphrasing from Enobarbus in Antony and Cleopatra."]
