"SkekUng the Garthim-Master artwork hand-painted by conceptual and creature designer Brian Froud for the production of Frank Oz's and Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal.

skekUng is hand-painted onto a card panel with Froud's name hand-signed and the date "1981" inscribed within the artwork in the bottom right corner. Additional annotations of "20.5%" is handwritten inside the bottom border of the piece, while "104.7%", "13 3/8" and "76%" are handwritten inside the right border, with all these inscriptions rendered in pencil.

This artwork appears on page 91 of The World of the Dark Crystal book, which describes it as "a vivid portrait of skekUng the Garthim-Master clutching his staff of power. Much of skekUng's power must have come from his ability to assume positions of geometric harmony, unusual for a Skeksis; the overlay in the portrait clearly reveals this." "A set of production and promotional photos and ephemera from Jim Henson's and Frank Oz's fantasy adventure film The Dark Crystal.

This lot consists of several portfolios with production photographs and printed copies from various projects, including Skeksis concept sketches by Brian Froud; photographs of printed dragon artwork; various Polaroid photographs; one Christmas card from crew member Dave Barclay featuring Brian Froud artwork; and one press kit with the film's title logo containing cast and crew credits, press releases, and a copy of Cinefantastique Volume 13 Number 4. Some of the paper elements exhibit staining, tape residue, and edgewear. Dimensions: (largest) 18" x 13" x 0.5" (45.75 cm x 33.25 cm x 1.5 cm); (smallest): 3.25" x 3.25" (8.25 cm x 8.25 cm)"

"SkekUng the Garthim-Master's necklace prototype from Jim Henson's and Frank Oz's fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal. SkekUng vied to fill the power-vacuum after Emperor skekSo's death.

This necklace features fiberglass and yellow foam, painted gray with a beak-like center element with yellow talons and a faux purple crystal, two attached bone-like pieces and two unattached bone-like pieces with talons. Part of the back side is unfinished and shows exposed yellow foam.The lot exhibits surface cracking and a broken piece of an unattached bone element.
