In this verse we're twenty years in the future. Michael succeeds in restoring the McAllistar name and is a rising figure of progress for his work in Hexcircuitry. He also marries Caitlyn, though the two never have children they're both clearly happy.
Trouble brews in Demacia. The Crown is attacked and she loses both her King and her Prince. In the wake of the power vacuum, a Demacian noble rises to power on the idea that it was a mage that killed they're royal family. He whips up the masses into a frothing hatred for magic. He tells them that magic must be eliminated and that Demacia must go to war with mages, and anyone who isn't with them is against them.
Instead of becoming a bounty hunter, Michael turns to a life of crime to pay his way and make a living. He only has access to his time magic in this verse, but he's far more relaxed and almost jovial in nature.
He steals tomes and crystals of magical power for the most part; either to be kept or sold off on an underground mage market. He also takes work in the form of people buying his talents. He's stolen for countless politicians and crooked collectors.
On one job, he meets another young arcanist and the sparks quite literally fly from their first touch.
A werewolf AU. Michael has been cursed into the form of a white wolf. This AU comes in both the full wolf (humanoid with a wolf head and covered in fur) or anthro (ears, tail, fangs, etc.)
While his physical prowess is elevated, his magical abilities are dampened in both cases. In his full wolf form, he can't use magic at all.
Michael's distant, Ionian relative, Matsu Akaido. He's a young warlord looking to defend his lands from surrounding, larger armies. Though his people are few, he loves them as a good ruler should. For months he prays to any deity that will hear him for assistance in an upcoming battle he's sure he will lose.
One such God hears him and grants his wish. Matsu comes into possession of a magical sword wreathed in lightning and not only defends his lands but expands into a large kingdom where he reigns as the Thunder Lord.
(This AU will have many windows of opportunity to interact with Matsu. For example, before and after he obtains Raikage)
In this AU Michael is unsuccessful in his attempts to revive his family standing. Over the years he slowly grows more and more bitter. He grows angry at his siblings and the world around him, changing his stance from earning the respect he deserves to taking revenge on fate for dealing him such an awful past.
In his many travels to the Shadows Isles for alchemical ingredients, he met with Thresh. His incredible prowess in combat and remarkable intellect gained him the compliment of being "interesting" to the Warden. A tentative acquainceship formed between them after several talks.
In time, his fire started to fade and he felt more and more each day that his time had passed. He refused to suffer this on his own. He sought out Thresh and struck a deal. If Michael died before he could realize his dreams, Thresh would get his soul in exchange for killing his siblings.
In death, Michael serves as something like a Bounty Hunter for Thresh. He collects the souls of the murderers and thieves he hunts and takes them to his new master.
