If Dain in books 4 or 5 says something like "Fuck the Codex" or destroys it somehow, I will definitely be cheering. In fact, I will be cheering so loud that you will be able to hear me, wherever you are in the world. I also have this specific image in my mind of Dain confronting his father with Cath behind him, then throwing up the Codex without breaking eye contact, having Cath set it ablaze, and watching the ashes fall down like snow on his father's head.
But you know which moments I love? When Dain uses the Codex in our favour (us being team Violet, as we all collectively become Violet when reading the books). For example, when Dain comes in during her interrogation assessment, takes one look at her and immediately goes like: "Regulations state that riders should be healthy before beginning interrogation assessment. Cadet Sorrengail is clearly not healthy." Or when he uses the Codex against Aura in her fight against the flier. Like, sure, it didn't work, but that's beside the point. I just love those moments. It got me going like: "YASS!! RUB THAT CODEX IN HER FACE!" Which is ironic given that after book 1 I would've been more likely to say something like: "Shove that Codex up your ass, Aetos." But hey, people change. People make mistakes. I love you, Dain. (And I'm sorry.)
