“Theo can’t feel pain??” Yes! Er, nope! ..kinda!

In case anyone here is as clueless as Blazer was, Theo isn’t a normal companion- he’s part peacemaker, having stolen one’s body in order to escape the confines of the house he was physically attached to.

I think about it sort of like a turtle shell, or if you flicked your own fingernail. You still feel it, but it’s clearly muffled/dulled by the hard surface. That being, for Theo, the straight up steel xe’re made of— in comparison to the far cheaper & thinner aluminum alloy of typical companions. Blazer’s about to punch the back of Theo’s shoulder, and find himself with a broken hand.

Xir head, however, is still vulnerable- and quite sensitive in comparison. It takes a lot for xem to trust anyone to touch xem there…

Post-kidnapping, Theo slowly regains his bearings— and has to learn to trust the people around him again, especially Blazer. Raf made a sick joke out of making the half-lucid tailor believe the oligarch was him, to the point where Theo had found himself awoken with a start to having allowed xemself to melt into his hands.

Realizing xe’d been tricked into trusting that vile rat made Theo dangerously volatile, which culminated in xem experiencing a derealization episode… where what real and what’s a game blurred together; even in the safety of his own home, Theo remained convinced the oligarch was trying to fool him again.

Blazer had no idea Raf had done this— Theo had been hiding the extent of the torture xe’d endured— so getting cracked to the ground and threatened with a seam ripper was quite the surprise,

I made this one immediately before starting Day Five; literally two days later I was drawing Raf getting kicked in the nuts . Ain’t that something

Anyways yes Blazer fell in love with Theo the moment he saw xem covered in Raf’s oil. Somewhere between “wow holy shit he’d actually kill someone for me..” and “Jesus he’s hot like this oh my fuck” . Blazer took up the task of helping fix xir injuries (Raf managed to stab xir ankle on the way out) while Eddie was busy with a Separate Problem…

He doesn’t end up asking xem on a date for another like 8 months, at first because of Separate Problem and later because, well. He was worried Theo would hate him.

I’ve said this a million times before but Theo is quite aroace. Blazer knew this for years, and was getting pretty good at defending him against anyone that willfully ignored this fact, playing Big Bodyguard against would-be suitors. Suffice to say, having himself be on that end of the table was be rather jarring- that makes him the bad guy. Since when is Blazer the bad guy ?! /silly

Theo just really doesn’t get it . The whole romance thing, I mean. Him & Blazer are so close that there isn’t really a difference between romantic and platonic, they’re just.. them. So being asked on a romantic date with xir romantic partner just felt like some kinda weird ritual that only Normal Bots go through ? Why do we need to go out to eat together when you already live in my house ? Confusing.

Theo’s canonically been sent letters & random DMs telling him that xe & Blazer shouldn’t be together because Blazer is untrustworthy and Evil due to his violent and selfish past (in human au a solid half of this is spurred by straight up racism)

Blazer gets teased all the time by old friends that he’s been “domesticated” and that he’s “lame” now because he’s grown and changed as a person

And don’t even get me STARTED on how inherently STRANGE their relationship is; being celebrities with a wack-ass semi-open qpr-but-not type situation going on that’s ALWAYS under scrutiny (especially Blazer’s end)

And neither of them could care less!! they both love each other exactly the way they always have!! not in spite of their flaws, but with them through and through!!!!

The fact they bonded almost immediately bc Theo couldn’t have cared less about Class Divide and just saw someone in need (even if his determination of that was rather selfish)

And then Blazer warms up to this weird ass guy and starts to bring him out of his emotional walls by just being really annoying (visiting all the time without warning) and they end up practically inseparable by the end of like month two

Raf tries sooooo damn hard to pry them apart but Theo & Blazer had already established everything they needed to keep going- nothing really ever comes close to breaking that

Theo’s rather self conscious about the amount of Rules xe put onto this relationship in comparison to Blazer’s practically none;

Not interested in sex, gets grossed out by kissing on the lips, in canon he has trauma with electric shock so he doesn’t like being sparked at all, sometimes he wonders if what he feels is even romantic

Blazer couldn’t care less . He’s more than happy to figure out cute and funny ways to accommodate xir boundaries and will defend Theo to the end of the universe. Both would kill & die for each other.
