“...wake up, Ives, come on. Grayson? Wake up. Grayson?”
The sound of his own name pierced the veil of Grayson’s dreams. He jerked awake, gasping and thrashing, but even waking up wasn’t enough to save him. Grasping tendrils had ensnared his arms and legs, and he could feel blood soaked into his hair.
“Hey, hey...” Hands founds his shoulders, pressing him back into the softness of the bed. He realized that the things pulling at his limbs were blankets and that he was soaked in sweat, not blood. The hands gripped his shoulders more tightly, holding him steady. “It’s alright. You’re okay.”
Grayson sucked down a ragged breath. Shocks of pain burned at the edges of his body. He felt too hot, or maybe too cold. “E... Elliott?”
“Yes, it’s me.” Elliott’s hand felt wonderfully cool as it pressed against Grayson’s forehead. “Shit. The fever’s come back. You’re burning up.”
Grayson shivered and groaned. “I... I had a... a bad dream...”
“Obviously. You practically kicked me off the bed. Here...” The mattress creaked as Elliott shifted away. There was the sound of swishing water, and then a damp cloth was laid over Grayson’s forehead. “That should help.”
“Mmm...” The coolness slowly trickled into Grayson’s skin, quelling the fire of his fever as it went. “S’better...”
“Good. Go back to sleep.” The bedsprings creaked again, and Grayson felt Elliott's arms gently pull him into an embrace. “No more nightmares, okay? Just rest.”
I don't know if you've seen or read Good Omens (and I've only watched the series so I'm only coming from that point of view) but the way Aziraphale enjoys his food is just so much fun to watch. The way he closes his eyes to take in the sushi's flavor, and when he says "That was scrumptious", it warms my heart! It's so cute and positive and I just ❤️💙💖💞💕💞💚💞🧡💖
Yes!!! ❤️Good Omens is possibly my favorite book of all time, and has been for the better part of 10 years hehe, and over the past couple weeks, Tiny and I have been watching the series together (using synchronized video calls) and it’s everything a person could dream of in an adaptation of a beloved book! 💞
And I agree! Aziraphale loving his food is such a cute and lovely detail! People really savoring their meals is Not Appreciated Enough in this community and that is Most Unfortunate.

Not intentionally, no. ^^’’’’ but now that you mention it, it’s extremely possible – perhaps even likely – that Eppendorf tubes were on my mind when I picked that name. (Not the pipettes though – when it comes to micropipettes, I’m more of a Gilson gal hehe.)

Hopefully Grayson and Ben can have some closure during the winter break, before anything really progresses with Elliott That will be difficult though cause I don’t think Grayson actually wants to be in a relationship with Elliot yet
Oooh yeah so some things about that which will probably become clearer in the next couple chapters—
Grayson definitely doesn’t consider himself on track to be in any kind of relationship with Elliott after that incident, heh. At best, Elliott went from being “my annoying tutor” to “my annoying tutor but nOW IT’S MORE AWKWARD.”
Grayson and Ben don’t consider themselves romantically involved either! There’s definitely affection in their relationship, but if asked, they’d say they’re good friends who happen to sleep together from time to time. So they both totally expect the other to be getting with other people while they’re apart.
In general, Grayson doesn’t tend to mentally connect sex with monogamous romantic relationships. Not that he couldn’t or wouldn’t—it’s kinda a consequence of how he grew up, having to hide his sexuality and just take whatever he could get in order to explore it.
ALL THAT SAID yes, there will be some eventual closure with Ben, and Grayson is gonna have to rethink how he sees sex, romance, and how they relate to himself a little.
Kara and 2 plates of spicy curry (plus milk for whenever she needs it <3)
This would be a pretty ordinary meal for Kara! She really likes spicy food and gets a craving for it every now and again, so I could see her grabbing a plate of curry and going back for seconds. :D
She probably wouldn’t need the milk, but might sip on it afterwards while contentedly rubbing her belly. ^^

In typical protagonist fashion, Grayson would be a Gryffindor. So would Bramley, although he’d be confused about it and spend a lot of time questioning what exactly the Sorting Hat saw in him that was brave.
Kara would be the cheerful Hufflepuff girl they meet in double Herbology or whatever, and quickly befriend. And Malia is a textbook Slytherin. They would probably meet her when they start to get mixed up in Dangerous Shenanigans and she decides she wants in.
Elliott would be a Ravenclaw. I know he seems Slytherin-y on the outside, but he actually hates status-driven people, and his ideal day would be spent in a room with a ton of books and absolutely no one to bother him.
Ryder… would be… hmm… a very close call between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. He’d probably choose Hufflepuff, since he values kindness over cleverness.
