6. What character do you have the most fun writing?

Eh, it depends on which fandom is living in my brain at the moment, but right now it’s Jonathan Carnahan hands down, because he’s just plain fun to write for. I can write him being snarky, I can peel back layers, I can write him be outrageously English... You know :D Overall I’d say Louis LeBeau. Because not only I love the character, but also with him I can get away with speaking some of my own language (especially the less than polite expressions) and it’s just *chef’s kiss* (oops, pun unintended)

11. What do you envy in other writers? 

The ability to construct bones and structures for complex stories with overreaching plots and still manage not to lose the reader. It’s so hard and some of y’all make it seem so effortless!! (I mean, I’m not fooled, I’m an author and I know how writing can make you cry tears of blood, but I’ll be damned if I know exactly which parts if the author doesn’t specify later.) Great illustrations of it are @gravelgirty, dust on the wind from FFnet, and you. I’m still blown away by MDB, btw.

24. Would you say your writing has changed over time? 

Definitely, and I hope for the better! I still use waaaay too many hyphens and parentheses, but hey, I’ve been writing for the better part of 19 years. And that’s only counting the stuff I’ve put up online. (the rest was lost when I moved away from my mum’s. fortunately) Thing is, it’s hard for me to distinguish between “my writing” and “my English” because most of what I write is in a second language, so... I’d like to say I’m more precise in my choice of words/phrases, and I’ve mostly stopped relying on expressions I think belong in the English language when actually they’re just French expressions translated word for word in English (those ALWAYS feel weird). I used to think I peaked around 2008, but then by 2012 I was full steam ahead writing Hogan’s Heroes fics which were well received for the most part, and I remembered that around 2008 I used to think I was in a slump.

Actually I was going to write “I’m less wordy now”, but then I looked at the previous paragraph, squinted, and went “...or maybe not” because boy, that’s rambly :D

One of the things Silent Spy admired about Nath was his incredible concentration. However, it sometimes lead to situations like this.

He’d first leaned over Nath (who was entirely engrossed in drawing a picture of one of Hippie’s chickens) with just his jacket off and the top two buttons of his shirt undone.

Nath didn’t notice. Not surprising really, he’d never been good at picking up subtle cues.

Silent Spy would just have to make things a bit more obvious.

Next he had his top off, and rested a hand on Nath’s shoulder as though just stopping by to admire his artwork (which admittedly, was very good.)

Nath paused to squeeze the hand on his shoulder, giving a small, happy hum. Nothing more though.

Not even when all Silent Spy’s clothes were gone and he reached right across the table under the guise of clearing away a coffee mug.

Really?

Really???

Right. Silent Spy neatly made the bed, draped himself across it elegantly, and threw a shoe at Nath’s head.

Goodness yes, these days I’m having a lot of feelings about my Greenport OCs in general!!

But if I had to show one off I gotta say I just love my Pernelle so much, she’s such a complex character (maybe too complex for my very limited writing abilities if i’m honest lmao), she seems like your usual lovely old lady at first - which she is, to an extent - but she’s so devilishly smart, and definitely has a darker side that most don’t even imagine.  She’s very ready to do bad things for the ‘greater good’, and she’s ready to let go of the good to protect herself if need be.
