something is knocking at your door x reader
Verity: Hellooo, I'm Verity, your personal helper friend. You can ask me anything, I know everything!!.
Location: Minecraft village
A villager steps out of his home as jazz music plays softly in the background. He surveys the quiet, empty town, searching for other villagers.
As he walks, he looks around, noticing everyone has vanished. He approaches a nearby house, opens the door, and peers inside-but finds no one. Leaving the door wide open, he continues walking, glancing to his right. He moves toward the town center, where a fountain stands in front of him. He gazes into the water, checking if anyone has fallen in, but sees only emptiness.
He circles the fountain and then opens another house's door, only to find it unoccupied. He walks further into the town, unaware that he is being watched. Suddenly, something grabs him, shaking him away, and the last sound he hears is a piercing screech before everything fades to black.
The deliberate, sickening crunch of bone and the wet slurp of blood tore through the quiet evening. Standing in the dim light, the creature's skeletal frame and pale yellow skin cast a long, distorted shadow across the cobblestones.
Its lanky limbs moved with a jarring rhythm as it ripped into the villager's lifeless body, tearing off limbs one by one. In the deep shadows, the fiend's precise features remained obscured, save for a wide, unsettling grin that seemed permanently fixed upon its face.
This grim feast broke the town's silence, echoing past the open doors of the deserted homes as a terrifying testament to the fate of its inhabitants. Bathed in shadow, the beast cradled the poor villager, savoring every single bite slowly-as if it were its very last meal.
Location: Your Minecraft world
You were in the midst of finishing your elaborate Minecraft home-a sprawling, multi-level structure featuring intricately designed stone archways, vibrant stained glass windows, and custom-built furniture crafted from oak, birch, and dark oak logs-when you received an unexpected message from ThatMob.
The glow of the message pop-up appeared in front of you, illuminating part of the meticulously decorated interior. You could see that he's typing out his message, momentarily distracting you from your meticulous work on the lush gardens and the terraformed terrain outside, which was carefully planned with winding pathways and carefully placed shrubs.
Finally seeing his message pop up in front of you, you clicked on it, and the chat window opened. You patiently waited as the messages loaded, watching the scrolling chat history with ThatMob. When his message appeared, you stopped scrolling and focused on the text: "Hey [Name], do you want to try out this mod? I think you'll really love it, especially since I know how much you enjoy experimenting with new mods in Minecraft," it read.
Right next to his message, in the chat window, you saw the thumbnail preview of the mod he was talking about. The image showed a bright yellow ball, slightly glowing, with a sleek, futuristic design. Beneath it, a bio read, "Your personal helper." Curious, you clicked the response button, and a translucent, semi-opaque keyboard materialized in front of you, ready to type your reply.
You begin typing your response on the chat interface, writing, "Oh, that sounds interesting! What kind of mod is it?" Considering the bio didn't give you a lot of what the mod can do. After sending your message, you click outside the chat window to focus on finishing the outside tasks. You start adding colorful flowers around your house, carefully planting each one in the freshly tilled soil.
Suddenly, a new pop-up appears in the center of your screen, obstructing your view and halting your activities. You click on it again to see his reply: "I'm not sure, our friend just sent it to me, and I thought the best person to test this out is you." Reading his message, you furrow your brow slightly in uncertainty, then quickly respond by clicking the reply button again.
A translucent keyboard materializes in front of you, awaiting your input. You hurry to type, "It better not be a horror mod, or I'm out, but if it's not, I'll join you." Your fingers hover over the semi-transparent keys as you wait for his response. Once more, a new message pops up on the screen: "I don't think it's a horror mod. Besides, I know you'd kick my ass if it were, considering how much you dislike most horror mods."
Hoping he's being truthful, you type back, "Alright then, I'll join you." Moments later, he responds with a simple, "See you there." Without hesitation, you swiftly exit your Minecraft world, meticulously save your progress, and join the ThatMob world.
You secretly hope it isn't a horror mod, knowing he often chooses the most horrible ones.
Location:ThatMob Minecraft world
Loading into ThatMob's Minecraft world, your eyes open to a sprawling plane biome stretched out before you. The sky overhead is a clear azure, with distant mountains jagged against the horizon. You wish he had chosen a better biome, considering you don't particularly like this monotonous plain.
As you scan the surroundings, you begin searching for ThatMob, knowing he likes to stay near the spawn point. Suddenly, you hear footsteps behind you-firm, rhythmic steps that you immediately recognize. Before he can scare you, you turn quickly and jump out to startle him instead.
The next thing you hear is him squealing like a frightened little girl, causing you to burst into laughter as he shifts his focus to you, eyes wide with surprise.
"I was supposed to scare you; it wasn't meant to go the other way," he groans, sounding annoyed. You can't help but laugh even louder at his reaction. "Well, it's not my fault you're so bad at scaring people. Besides, I heard your loud footsteps from a mile away." ThatMob glares at you, arms crossed defiantly. "My footsteps are not that loud," he insists, turning slightly away from you.
You shake your head and tease, "Yes, they are." ThatMob quickly pivots to face you, denying, "No, they're not." You and ThatMob exchange playful arguments back and forth, neither willing to back down. Suddenly, a box appears out of nowhere, crashing onto the ground with a thud. Before you can question why there's a box on the floor, ThatMob looks just as surprised as you are, standing in place.
You and ThatMob stand silently in front of a mysterious box. Suddenly, the box begins to move unpredictably, shifting its shape and position. A voice emanates from within, surprising you. Turning to face ThatMob, he looks back at you with a neutral expression and simply shrugs his shoulders.
You extend your hand toward ThatMob, and he mirrors your gesture. Without hesitation, you both start playing rock-paper-scissors to decide who's opening the box. You lose the game, and now you feel you have to open the box. ThatMob dances with excitement, but you choose to ignore his jubilation and walk closer to the box.
You reach out and tap its surface lightly. As you step back, the box begins to levitate, floating smoothly in mid-air amid swirling particles of shimmering confetti. Suddenly, the box opens with a gentle pop, releasing a burst of colorful confetti that disperses into the air before vanishing.
A bright yellow ball emerges from the box, and it starts falling to the ground. Instinctively, you catch it just before it hits the floor. The ball bounces lightly in your hand, seemingly alive and responsive. ThatMob steps closer, eyeing the yellow ball with curiosity.
The ball lifts its tiny surface, and to your surprise, it speaks in a cheerful voice, "Thank you for catching me, [Name]! I'm Verity, your personal helper friend. You can ask me anything-I know everything!" Its tone is chipper and energetic, radiating friendliness and enthusiasm.
You stared blankly, inquiry in your eyes. "How did you know my-" Your words cut off as ThatMob interrupted, cutting with a dismissive wave. "All right, buddy," he said skeptically. His disbelief in Verity's honesty was evident. A small laugh escaped Verity as he looked over toward ThatMob. "I'm for real, stop laughing," Verity insisted, trying to appear convincing.
ThatMob's expression shifted, showing doubt-he looked genuinely not quite convinced. Despite this, it seemed worth a try, so he asked, "Okay, what's 2 + 2?" You slowly turned toward ThatMob with a hint of annoyance. "That's the first thing you ask him?" you muttered. ThatMob shrugged casually, hearing a response from Verity, "Four."
Both you and ThatMob then shifted your attention back to Verity. ThatMob eyes widened slightly in amazement as Verity confidently answered, "Four," with no hesitation. ThatMob began firing a barrage of questions at Verity, who answered each one correctly.
Despite Verity's flawless responses, a nagging feeling of unease crept in-something about Verity still seemed slightly off, as if hiding something beneath his perfect facade.
☆ [Name] doesn't like horror mods; they don't hate it; they just hate that every single. The time you see the creature, your screen starts bugging out.
☆ [Name] does like horror mods is just that ThatMob picks horrible ones.
☆ [Name] thinks that Verity is a cute ball of yellow
