This is the time of life (67 almost 68) when your friends circle and family circle of peers gets smaller.  The family is larger and more wide-spread, but the circle of those with whom I grew up gets smaller each passing year.  This is 14 years without my Joe, my black knight in rusty armor, and I still haven’t found the right guy yet.  Each year I say I will make it a priority, but I don’t.  When I look at the “pool of prospects”, I shudder.  The good ones are either dead, want to die or are married. I’m the girl who still believes that it’s better to be without a man than to be tied to the wrong one. So…I’m finding myself “without”.  I don’t need a “forever-ever”, just a companion with whom to share things. Sex is important, but conversation and companionship are tops on the list. Impossible, you say? And that, my friends, is why I’m alone.
