Thought about it because my sibling and I have been playing Die of Death recently (I'm so ass at it-) out of curiosity for the source material of Pursuer because their heavily attached to them- and I ended up attached to MeQuot for literally no reason and the fanon interpretation of him being a chubby fluffy fella is not helping-

And Shadow, Rouge, and Espio don’t know what to do. As they aren’t really comfortable with such responsibilities. And are horribly emotionally unavailable a lot. But are terrified of what would happen if they were to shut them down. As they know how traumatized Surge and Kit are. And don’t want to contribute anything else.

They also don’t think themselves as good influences for Surge and Kit. And are trying to softly push them to seek someone else to be their caretaker. Who would actually help them better than them.

Just oughhhhh…one sided family dynamics…

One sided as in Surge and Kit see Shadow, Rouge, and Espio as parental figures. But the three don’t really feel comfortable with seeing them as Y’know…their children.

As they aren’t at all wanting to take up such a responsibility. They don’t want to have the emotional being of someone else being on their shoulders. They already are so emotionally unavailable they can’t even handle their own emotions.

But they know how hurt Surge and Kit were by Starline. And they don’t want to make them think they’re being hurt again. That they’re abandoning them.

So they’re stuck. Stuck on what to do. And are just hoping one day they can find a better caretaker for them. That can actually help them.

I could also ramble on about how they also have a sibling like relationship with Silver. And how he’s okay with being their big brother figure, but is aware that Espio and the others aren’t comfortable with being perceived as their parental figures. So he’s trying to softly push Surge and Kit to seek someone else as their parental figure.

Which not much luck so far..

They just make my brain rot so much…
