I love writing emotionally avoidant characters its so nice to have a guy just refuse to Acknowledge or Say that there are problems even when it is Entirely Transparent that there are problems.
#shmilk is trying to dance around a conversation he Knows nilly will want to have in chapter 5#and its fun hes like “have some food!! look at this dress!!! have I mentioned Saph's new project??? let me tell you all about—”#meanwhile nilly is just staring at him like :( the whole time just patiently waiting for an opening#he wants to ask how shmilk is doing after chapter 2s events bc clearly its Not Well but shmilk does not want to talk about it at all#thankfully!#Hollyberry Moment Incoming#can she get shmilk to open up if nilly cant? no probably not#can she get him to like. get his head out of his ass for one second and think about how ch2s events affected NILLY?#probably still unlikely BUT she can try#unfortunately it seems my pacing is shit because I think chapters 1 through 8 are all going to be setup w very little Happening#important things will come in due time but until then we gotta establish shmilk as in an entirely different position from the start of CG#then again I think Hollyberry is an important thing for this first arc given. well. y'all likely could guess#seeing as shmilks gotta talk to each of the other beasts and all
