I do keep him alive because 1. I love him, 2. I change up the Bastion storyline depending on the AU. I have mainly 2 SL AUs which is a normal run with my DH Maw Walker and mostly the same as Canon, and the other one with the Covenant Heirs.

With the Normal Run, Thanikos is turned into the bone monster but they contain him, and they somehow manage to pull of a reverse ritual after the Bastion Maldraxxus tension eventually calms down.

In the AU with the Covenant Heirs, he gets saved last minute when Amar starts casting his spell by the Maw Walker and Kyrestro so the transformation doesn't even happen. A lot of stuff changes in this AU that would probably take forever to explain but-

Free Space: I've been thinking about this for the past few days before this ask and I'll be honest my favourite kyrian overall is probably Thanikos and I don't even have a good reason I just like him >< I am attached to this kyrian for reasons I cannot identify

Back in 2020, high school me wasn't that focused on the lore but I have this thing where genuinely kind and brave characters who risk their lives to protect and save others just hit me so hard and I fall in love with them (I'm emotional and cry watching movies/tv shows bc of this all the time). And in SL Thanikos kinda came out of the screen and smacked me bc I couldn't do the story until I recovered

Legit got traumatised when this guy that was so kind and brave got turned into a bone wraith and we were forced to kill him 😭 it was horrifying to me and broke my heart, I was so sad I don't care if I met him twenty minutes ago he did not deserve that, I want to spend more time with him *starts crying again*

He might have cursed me because now every time I get to Temple of Courage I can't bear to watch the cinematic bc I know I'll cry. I love your art of Thanikos and all your headcanons for him plus everyone else too bc THEY ARE ALL SO GOOD I LOVE THEM ALL I WANT TO BUY YOUR BASTION ENCYCLOPEDIA

Free Space: I'll be honest I see NPC Tariesh and my Tari as two entirely different people and it's in the sense that I don't think NPC Tariesh would ever act like Tari (be a silly idiot half the time and dress in a way that definitely gets him a ton of uniform infringements) but if I talked about him I'd be here for another essay

I wanna draw NPC Tariesh out of pure spite of myself bc I think I ruined him in a way that doesn't do him justice at all + I want to learn how to actually draw chains & render, to me if NPC Tariesh existed irl he’d probably want to drag me into Torghast and chain me forever for ruining his image and being unhinged

So, if you remember, there's that Path of Courage you can do to get a treasure in the Temple of Courage, where you activate invisible paths and then walk them quickly.

Well.

When Thanikos was still an aspirant, and Xandria was a disciple, she overheard him explaining the path to a few other aspirants. You're not really supposed to do that, but it was kind of amusing how adamant he was about it.

The thing was, he didn't realize there was a timer on how long the paths stayed up.

So after a bit of grandstanding about how brilliant he was for figuring it out, he turned and walked out where the path would be with the utmost confidence in his stride.

Except he was a few seconds too late.

So she and the other aspirants watched him just step off the edge of the realm and p l u m m e t

Then I intentonally broke him again turns out he just does that

And then I took him for a walk

I also kept trying to take a photo from the front but he jsut kept showing me his ass

I was doodling some designs I've been thinking about a bit, and they both just happen to have something up with the left side of their face.

She's not been okay ever since Vesiphone purified her into oblivion. Something broke inside her, and they're not sure what. She no longer speaks, and when she has begun to fall that was honestly unsurprising. What was strange that the visible signs of her falling stop directly halfway along her body. She still works in the healthcare side of Purity as they try to figure out what to do with her.

I don't know if it's been clear I've been thinking about these three and their dynamic a lot lately, but unfortunately I go back to work tomorrow so I had to get something with all three of them out before then.
