that night sky.

The sun had already kissed the plains when Akari arrived, the sky turning orange then purple then black as it dipped further and further below the horizon of bowing grass. Now the stars that had begun to twinkle weakly with the lowering sun shone bright and piercing in the night. The grass began to glow a faint blue as creatures with coats that shone and twinkled like the stars amid black fur started to appear.
Akari stepped further into the sea-like blue and green. The glass bottles she had in her bag tinkled softly with her movement. Although she had agreed to the job knowing that she would be bottling up stars, she had not known how beautiful the place would be. A surge of excitement, bubbling warmth, rose up inside her and propelled her forward into the midst of the plains. Her movements sent a ripple of fireflies up from their hiding places, their lights drifting up and down in the air. Akari gazed up, her job forgotten, and watched. “Is this Neverland?”
