the forest is a metaphor for feeling stuck in one of the darkest times in your life, and the treeo represent the different approaches to this. in reality, the forest is escapable, but their past experiences have forced them to adopt the mindset that they'll never be able to escape from this forest and heal. they all eventually do i promise and they'll come back to the forest and realise that despite their situation seeming like the end of the world, they were still able to help each other and themselves get out.
