This one was quite special to write.

The script is loosely based on a true story that happened to me last year, except that things didn't end as romantically as it did here. But that's okay. I was able to recall that experience of catching feelings for someone in a way I hadn't for a long time. I was able to grasp the idea of feeling cozy in someone else's energy, and I wanted to convey that in this story.

The script was originally gonna be just a vanilla comfort audio, taking place in maybe a shared home or bedroom. However, there is a line that invites the listener to throw all their negative thoughts "into a fire, and away with the wind" that was at first just purely metaphorical. But then it made much more sense, especially given the summer season, to have this be set by a campfire.

Writing for trans folks from the other side of the gender spectrum came with things to consider. I tried not to overthink the idea of how dysphoria would feel for someone on the other side of gender spectrum as me. As a trans person myself, I initially tried to incorporate lines that showed how I also understood and went through dysphoria, but these ended up feeling unnecessary for this script. It felt much more genuine to say I believe you when you say it hurts.
