could you do how you think different tf2 ships would work out/not work out? Like how you think speeding bullet or helmet party would be if they were together in canon?
i don't have a lot of time, so i'm gonna answer this ask and use it as today's post. i'll use this to aslo say; if you want my personal views on ships, feel free to put it in a comment! i'll update it as i go!
speeding bullet: these two, to me, work out a lot better as friends than they do romantic partners. i think there would eventually come a time that scout just is too much. and inversely, there comes a point where sniper just isn't enough. these two would battle to find the middle ground. and because of how much they would struggle, it would be easier for them both to call it quits. at the end of the day, neither one of them is truly willing to bend. scout will never acquiesce, and sniper, while not as adamant about it as scout, would grow to resent scout for how much he demands. past this, my scout is very straight; and sniper, while more sexually... fluid, would find him to be... annoying. too annoying to actually want to sleep with. and scout would probably make fun of him because he doesn't last long.
helmet party: these two would get along just fine, and is the strongest contender for a healthy, long standing relationships. much like pyro, dell will never be mad at a resident idiot following him around. it's like a free goon. jane, on the other hand, really would appreciate, and actively does appreciate a man like dell. dell is intelligent. dell is crafty, dell is really a sweetheart when you get to know him, and soldier doesn't realize that dell is these things for him. otherwise, dell is a dick. he's a bitch. but jane would never believe that that is just how dell is. additionally, dell is pretty gay, and jane doesn't really give a fuck about someone's genitals in the first place for it to matter. any hole is a goal.
red oktoberfest: it's... volatile. realistically, it's volatile. it is a lot of push and pull and ups and downs and arguments and making up. but if they can get past this, if they can survive the initial rough patch, it will simply blossom. they truly are perfect for one another as they settle into each other's routines and habits. these are two men who could truly come to understand each other in a way that is intimate, soft, and welcoming. they can blossom into a couple that truly just... understands each other. who can give each other the space, and the grace, and the gentility they didn't realize they truly needed. but to get to this, they have to get past what will be an almost eternal rough patch. it will hurt them. it will scar them. but it will bring them closer.
bloody suit: it is an absolute make or break for years. it's a make or break because they're both so guarded that most things are enough for either one of them to be willing to call it quits. but in that same breath, they're both too unwilling to give the other up! they are borderline obsessed with each other. they always want to know what the other one is doing, where they want to go, how their day is going or will go, they are so obsessed with each other and every single facet about each other that they, quite literally, refuse to let each other go. regardless of how mad they make each other, they so desperately want to be around each other that it almost makes them sick.
swordvan: probably the most normal of all of the ships, these two would get along just fine, they would connect wonderfully, tavish is well-adjusted and well rounded, mick is easy-going and flexible, and together they would find that they would truly just enjoy each other's company, past the struggle of war. they would make each other feel normal; like they were just two men who happened to run into each other, and they just... stuck. it's lovely. they're lovely together. it's soft, and kind, and gentle, and loving. and they would genuinely understand and come to love each other.
