The prof literally made about 600 different thigns to take into account when grading us
Made us do wekly assignemnts in THE most complicated way possible, for marks
Made it so each of us has to critique 10 other people's assignments every week FOR MARKS
And then we have to REsubmit 3 assignments for MORE marks on special dates
And the submit deadline is 2PM. But the comment submit time is 11:59 pm.
And this is all done online
And if our internet went out or for some reason we couldn't get to a computer to submit the assignment on time, we're just straight up outof the marks.
But wait, there are 2% in bonus marks we can make up by doing "Super fun exciting" in-class activities to make up for an assignment we miss, to account for this
Even though everyone who COULD sumbit the assignment would get those 2% on TOP of their assignment marks.
Oh and all of this is to "Get us to think like social psychologists".
So assuming the only reason we'd take this course is because we're all obviously going into the field of social psychology
And you know what? After reading hte first two chapters of the textbook, it looks like the writers were a bunch of idiots who refuse to see anything other than the "Social psychologist" view and completely ignore definitions and alter them to fit their discipline, and pretty much throw all other views under the bus and make any other views sound like a bunch of idiots.
You'd think you could reply to this with "Well all the other branches of psychology do the same thing" but I've bought my fair share of textbooks for other classes, and I have yet to see one that is this bad.
