I’ve never had this problem, but here are some suggestions:

Have you tried re-rendering clips once they are in the timeline? (Change the opacity to 99.99 or something similar but unnoticeable just to get it to re-render) I had a problem once with green flashes and that solved them. 

If that doesn’t work, remove your event files from inside fcp and re-import them - it may fix the issue.

What kind of clips are you working with? .mov? .mp4? Try using handbrake or remux to either re-encode or extract your original files to either .mp4 or .m4v - a new codec may stop the glitching. 

If you’re not using the trial, check to make sure FCP is updated - it just got a large update the other day actually (Friday). 

Make sure you have enough free space on your computer to render the files properly - you should always have about 30% of your HD space free for your computer to function smoothly. FCP projects generally take up huge chunks of space so this space can be easily eaten up without you noticing — especially if you are working with RAW video clips from a camera. 

Make sure you restart your computer regularly to clear the cache of RAM so things run quicker.

Just a little reminder, I don’t mind with this, but generally we aren’t tech support because there are a million things that can go wrong and we in no way have experience with all of them, nor are we trained to properly troubleshoot for specific issues to fix them! I recommend you check out (and maybe post) on a forum like this one if none of this fixes your issue :)
