Im tired and about to sleep but I wanted to post my shitty head canons about Dragon Bonds, because it’s what we’ve always wanted. right?
I like to pretend it’s the Bond Draco and that shitty brat he gave his heart to.
The bonded pair can sense when the other is in danger, instinctively they go out to find the bonded one and help him/her.
The longer the pair are bonded the more Powell they can become. By understanding the other in a much more intimate detail than any other bond or link.
When the Dragon and Mortal start to create a link it can be a very bumpy road for both of them as they figure things out. Once the rocky road has been passed the Linked pair are near inseparable.
They can, on some sort of level, feel the emotions both are having. However it can take years for the mortal to understand the Dragons emotions if it has any at all. While it is easier for the Dragon to understand their Mortals behavior.
ALSO, seeing some older concept art I think they actually ride their Dragons. I assume that would be the final stage of Bonding and Trust and that’s when fighting the Dragon and it’s Priest/Priestess very difficult. As now you are fighting 2 beings in 1.
Alduin is tricky and he’s not really bonded with anyone 100% but if I find out it’s Nahkriin I’m leaving.
The reason Paarthurnax ditched Alduin was because he didn’t get any McDonalds.
You Know.. I wonder now with the Dragon Bond/Links being Canon in the elder scrolls universe it got me thinking about Krosis. We know he’s buried on top of the Hill/Mountain near the Word Wall and that Dragon, so here’s what I think about him now.
More like a head-canon, I think it’s cute though.
Krosis didn’t betray the Dragons nor his people. I believe he was at some point connected with his own Dragon and had a strong bond with him.
The Dragon War came and he fought by the Dragons side, unfortunately the Dragon died at some point and Krosis was full of regret because he could not protect the Dragon.
He then changed his name to “Krosis” meaning ‘Sorrow’ ‘Sorry’ out of shame.
I personally think his Dragon made that Word Wall with him that he’s by. He wished to have his burial near the Word Wall so he may be closer to his Deceased Friend and Kyne after his sacrifice.
His Dragon is resurrected and returns to the Word Wall to watch over the Loyal Priest until he awakens.
