also i am not exaggerating about their devotion to the other breaking the laws of the universe btw. the main conflict of cpsm is basically an ancient cosmic force being so desperate to rest he's been trying to kill himself for millions of years and planning on using damian as a meat suit to accomplish it. only for rakiel to go "lol nope" and just. taking the burden of eternal misery and suffering and becoming an eldritch being in the process. just to save damian.

i think rakiel and damian are 'together' post canon but they never really make it 'official'. like yes they are life partners but no they're not boyfriends. yes they are in love and fully aware of it but they're not dating. yes they will spend the rest of their lives together but they never really think about marrying. they don't really have a label for what they are. they are just each other's.
