I went with the Mini Pot Noodle (小碗面) which came with the dry-style thin yellow noodles in a separate bowl topped with a fried dumpling 🥟, crispy tempura bits and bean sprouts. The soup 🍲 came in a small pot over a small lighted food candle. Swimming in the hot soup are minced & sliced pork, fishcake slices, fish balls, pig’s liver and a poached egg. Mixing up the noodles 🍜, I get the springiness of the noodles, crispiness of the deep-fried batter and crisp texture of the bean sprouts.

I requested for my bowl of Fried Wanton Noodle (炸云吞面) with chilli sauce added. It cost the same S$5 as mum’s bowl of noodles. Besides the crispy wantons, there are also braised mushrooms 🍄‍🟫, blanched bean sprouts and the same crunchy bits of tempura. Both bowls of noodles 🍜 came with separate soup at the side.

Ordered a small bowl of Scallop Minced Meat Noodle (鲜贝肉脞面) for mum. The dry style mee kia or thin egg noodles comes with a generous amount of ingredients including three whole scallops. Not sure why they did not provide a bowl of soup as we did not question the staff.

I took up the offer to order a medium bowl of XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞面) which comes with a bowl of soup. The amount of noodles looks the same as the smaller bowl. It is just like transferring all the other ingredients into the soup at the cost of S$1 extra. 🧐 It’s totally not worth the money so next trip I will just get the small portion and forgo the soup.

Mum loves the Chicken Cutlet Noodle (炸鸡扒面) which also comes with plenty of crispy tempura bits. The noodles here is the thin kind which we called mee kia (面仔). I typically just order the XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞面) which already comes with a lot of ingredients. There are fried dumpling 🥟, meat ball, minced & sliced pork, fishcake slices, braised mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 and a sprinkling of tempura bits. If you dine in and ordered the dry style noodles, they will come with a bowl of clear soup.

Mum just wants the Chicken Cutlet Noodle (炸鸡扒面) with thin yellow noodles and no chilli. Beside the pieces of sliced fried chicken, the noodles and bean sprouts are tossed in savoury brown sauce with a sprinkling of crunchy tempura bits and lettuce. A bowl of soup is provided for every order of dry style noodles.

I opted for Scallop Minced Meat Noodle (鲜贝肉脞面) which is also dry style thin yellow noodles but I asked for chilli paste to be added. On top of it are a lot of other ingredients like a pair of scallops, fried dumpling, Fuzhou fish ball, fish ball, braised mushroom, sliced fishcake and pork with plenty of minced pork, tempura bits and lettuce.

My dry style XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞面) or Bak Chor Mee 🍜 has the same mee kia as mum’s but with chilli sauce added. My bowl has plenty of toppings including a Fuzhou meatball, crispy dumpling, fishcake slices, minced and sliced pork. The tempura bits gave this noodle dish added crunchy texture. I also ordered a cup of Teh Siu Dai or milk tea less sweet to go with my meal.

Mum got her Laksa (叻沙), a popular dish in Singapore, containing influences from Chinese, Malay, and other cultures. At its core, laksa is a spicy soup comprising the base ingredients of coconut milk, dried shrimp, fishcake, fish balls, fried bean curd puffs, blood cockles and prawns. This bowl doesn’t have prawns and mum don’t like cockles so we asked for it to be excluded. The noodles here is the thick rice vermicelli and topped with finely chopped laksa leaves (Persicaria odorata).

I went with the dry style XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞面), opting for thin yellow noodles. For the toppings, it came with minced pork, sliced pork, braised mushroom, fish ball, fishcake, a fried wanton and crispy tempura bits. Mix the noodles up with the savoury brown sauce and tuck in.

I took the small portion (S$6) Scallop Minced Meat Noodle (鲜贝肉脞面) which comes with plenty of toppings from scallops, crispy dumpling, pork ball, fish ball, mushroom, fishcake slices, minced pork and lots of crunchy tempura bits. For my noodles, I picked the thin yellow noodles tossed in the same savoury brown sauce and with chilli paste added. Though it came with a bowl of soup, still I ordered a cup of teh siu dai ☕️ or milk tea less sweet to complete the meal.
