Laksa noodle soup (x)
Brought mum to 85 Redhill Teochew Fishball Noodles at the basement floor of Sun Plaza. Got the dry style Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle 🍜 (香菇肉脞面) for mum. Unlike the brown sauce used elsewhere, this stall retained the old school ketchup-based 🍅 sauce. The thin egg noodles (mee kia) topped with minced pork & pork slices, braised slices of mushroom 🍄🟫, fish ball and garnished with spring onions.
I had Laksa 🍜 (叻沙) and took up the set meal option, which comes with sliced Fried Fishcake 🐟 (鱼饼) and Ice Lemon Tea 🍋🥤. This is a spicy noodle dish popular in Southeast Asia consisting of various types of noodles, most commonly thick rice noodles, with toppings such as blood cockles and prawns. In Singapore 🇸🇬 laksa is prepared with a rich and spicy coconut 🥥 curry soup or a broth topped with finely sliced laksa leaves 🌿 (Vietnamese Mint, Vietnamese Coriander).

Red Curry Laksa Noodle Soup
Food of the Day: Rendang
ate rendang at a kenduri today and wow… i forgot how good it is. the beef was so soft it just melted, and the gravy was thick and full of spices. you can tell it’s been cooking for hours because every bite is just packed with flavor.
rendang isn’t the kind of thing you eat every day, so having it at a kenduri makes it feel even more special. like you’re sitting there with a plate of rice, rendang, maybe some other lauk, and suddenly you’re just so thankful food like this exists.
the taste is hard to explain—it’s spicy, a little sweet, and kinda nutty from the coconut. the heat builds up but you don’t stop, you just keep going. pair it with plain rice and it’s basically perfect.
idk, rendang always feels like more than just food. maybe it’s because i always have it at family events or kenduris, so it’s tied to those memories. it’s not just delicious, it’s comforting, like home on a plate.
