#temporal fluid

As Marilyn stared at the massive machine, the rings started to activate. She wasn’t exactly sure what was happening, but certain gems on the rings that she hadn’t noticed before were lighting up, casting a dim golden light around the giant cavern.

The rings began to turn.

She looked around the cavern, but she couldn’t see any reason as to why this was happening. The rings started to orbit around the center, accelerating quickly, and the gemstone in the center started to glow, gradually getting brighter.

As the massive rings started to blur together from their speed, the wind blowing off of it was strong enough to make Marilyn struggle to keep her footing.

I-I need to stop this somehow! I need to do something!

She concentrated on the outermost ring as best she could and tried to cast Stasis.

As she had practiced, spectral chains stretched towards the metal ring. However, the moment the chains connected, they were immediately disrupted, warping and distorting. The spectral remnants of the chains were then pulled into the core, which continued to glow brighter and brighter.

The gemstone in the core started to make a strange high-pitched humming noise, which just got louder and louder. Marilyn pressed her hands to her ears, which did nothing to dampen the noise, as it penetrated everything. She felt a tugging around her neck, and she realized with horror that her Charge Stone was being pulled towards the whirlwind.

She tried to cast Stasis again, but the same thing happened. She shot off spells again and again, trying to stop the machine, but it just made the pull around her neck stronger.

The gemstone in the center seemed to expand, and spectral runes started to float around it. It continued to get brighter and brighter, and the humming became louder and louder, and the pull around her neck became stronger and stronger…

Suddenly, the rings halted. Marilyn dropped to the ground, and the core collapsed back to its regular size, with a horrible noise that she couldn’t begin to describe, other than it sounding like something terrible dying.

As the ringing in her ears faded, she looked around dazedly.

Someone was standing right behind her.

She jolted upright and whipped around, remembered the dagger in her hand, and went for a slice right at their neck.

She was stopped mid-strike by the dagger halting midair. She tried to follow through, but a blue glow surrounded it, and it was completely stuck in place. She looked back at the perpetrator, and their arm was slightly raised with a blue glow around their hand. She also noticed a blue gem glowing in his upper arm.

It was Beth Unico, but she couldn’t see his face. His entire body was covered in Bethylium armor, and it wasn’t the same armor she had seen him wearing around the manor. This armor was fully covered with weapons, and it made him significantly taller. His helmet had no discernible emotion on it, to the point where she wondered how he could see through it.

The dagger was suddenly ripped from her hand and shot to Beth Unico’s. He gripped it, and it disintegrated into blue energy.

“Beth, I can explain—”

He spoke in a voice that was completely unfamiliar to her.

“I told you to stay out of my lab.”

His arm shot out at her, and she felt a sudden burst of energy throughout her entire body. As she looked at her hands, they glowed blue, and she screamed as she was ripped apart into blue energy.

She reformed in her room, and she collapsed, shaking.

The man she knew as Beth Unico materialized in front of her from a collection of blue strands of energy and stepped out of her room.

“Be glad I took mercy on you.”

He slammed the door shut, and Marilyn scrambled to her feet to grab the handle. However, by the time she got up, the edges of the door glowed blue, and where there was once a door, there was now a wall.

She screamed and banged on the stone wall, over and over again, before sinking to the carpeted floor.

She was trapped, with nothing but the Charge Stone hanging around her neck.

That night, Marilyn struggled to get to sleep. Despite Beth Unico giving her strict orders not to enter his personal chambers or his lab, she was just dying to know what was going on behind the closed door.

Staying barefoot, she crept out of her room with her dagger in hand. She made sure to stay in the shadows of the hallways, just in case anyone was patrolling the halls.

Eventually, she came to the great stone door again, which she knew held Beth Unico’s lab. Placing her hand on the door, she concentrated on the locking mechanism inside and cast Recall.

The door rolled open, and she braced herself for Beth Unico to attack her. However, the lab seemed to be deserted, leaving her to investigate the massive chalkboard occupying the opposite wall.

As she read over it, she tried again to decipher Beth’s jagged handwriting and scientific jargon, but she yet again ended up failing. However, she was able to confirm the note, which did indeed say, ‘have to stop the girl from leaving’.

As she looked around the lab, at the strange devices littered around, she noticed a staircase cut into the wall. It looked to be a relatively recent installment, as the cut marks were still visible.

With nothing better to do, she started to descend the stairs. It was a dark staircase, only lit by the occasional blue lamp, which gave the entire stairway an eerie glow.

After descending for a while, she started to wonder where it could possibly lead. Just as she thought that, she rounded a corner and found herself staring into a massive room.

The room was just about completely occupied by a massive structure suspended from the ceiling. This structure was made up of rings, each one getting smaller and closer to the center. In the very center floated a glowing golden gemstone.

Upon a closer look, Marilyn realized that the gemstone was made of Temporal Fluid.

Marilyn hated studying. Or reading in general. She had enjoyed school when she was younger, but once she realized it was mostly sitting still and looking at words, she grew a distaste for it. Now, this person Xauren just handed her a book, expecting her to read it.

Typically, she would try to verify what she was told, but this time, she would just take his word to be the truth. Meanwhile, she had more combat training with Beth Unico.

This time around, she paid more attention to his appearance and demeanor, trying to detect if something was off.

He had an effeminate, wiry appearance and a swagger to him that put off the impression of complete confidence. He wore armor at all times, even around the Manor. The only time she had seen him without it was in his lab, and even then, his clothes closely hugged his figure and appeared to be made of a strong material. He wore his hair in a short crop, but long enough to cover a scar on the back of his head and neck. His right arm was entirely mechanical and had a Sacret Stone glowing in the upper arm. It was made of the same material as the rest of his armor, which he had informed her was Bethylium. Right now, his pale face contrasted nicely with the black and silver of the armor.

His voice could change in speed like the wind; sometimes he would talk very slowly and elegantly, putting emphasis on every word, and sometimes he would talk so fast that he tripped over his own words. He was extremely eccentric, sometimes to the point of absurdity. However, underneath all of these facades laid a steel core.

Marilyn had only seen him lash out at her once, but that was enough for her to know that he was not who he seemed. Now, during her combat training, it was obvious to her that Beth Unico was restraining himself. He would go in for an attack, give her tips while attacking, and then he would back away. However, when she repelled his attacks, she could see bloodlust enter his eyes, even though it was just for a moment. This in itself was enough to convince her that Xauren was right.

She needed to get out of there.

Beth Unico and Marilyn stepped back into the training room.

“Alright. Let’s try that thing you tried yesterday again.”

He seemingly called out to the walls: “Load training sequence G21!” and then stepped out of the room.

Just as yesterday, the UnicoBot was raised into the room, and Marilyn readied her power.

The UnicoBot dashed toward her. She reached out with her power again, and instead of pushing on it, she pulled on it.

Nothing happened. The UnicoBot continued on its path, and she quickly cast a Stasis on it to get in a few hits. Again, same as yesterday, the UnicoBot broke free, dashed away, and readied its projectile attack.

She turned around, knowing that the Sage would halt the attack. A moment later, he stepped through the door.

“What do you want me to do again? I don’t understand. I tried casting it on the Bot!”

“Just as it’s harder to cast Stasis on a living being, it’s nearly impossible to cast Recall on a living being. Just try that strategy on the projectiles. I’m sure it will work.”

He stepped out again, and the training resumed. Marilyn sighed, then concentrated on the projectiles launching toward her.

This time, when she used her power, she tried pulling on it instead. Not pulling it toward her, but pulling it through time. She concentrated on its path, willing it to go back to the Guardian instead of continuing on its path toward her. Suddenly, there was a flash of energy, and it became nearly silent.

She didn’t realize that she had closed her eyes, but when she opened them, the UnicoBot was lying in pieces on the ground. Beth Unico ran in, his eyes shining.

“That! That was Recall! See? It wasn’t so hard, was it?”

She blinked at him and then stumbled a little.

“Oh. Yeah, I should have figured that would be tiring. Come on, dinner is ready.”

As she stumbled out of the room, the air around her felt different. While Beth Unico was beaming, she couldn’t help but feel like something was wrong. She noticed a large crowd of researchers who were standing near the door, scattered as if they were afraid of her.

When she went to wipe her hands of sweat and grime, she noticed with surprise that her hand was covered in sticky Temporal Fluid. When she went to wipe it on her shorts, the Sage stopped her and offered her a rag instead, which he then put down a chute near his lab.

Whatever weird suspicions she had were resolved at dinner, where Beth explained that he collected the Temporal Fluid to test in his experiments. However, when she asked about the researcher’s odd behaviour, he waved it off as she was misinterpreting it.

After dinner, as per usual, Beth headed into his lab, which he had recently equipped with a new lock. She headed into the library to continue her studies when an anxious-looking boy tapped her on the shoulder. He was holding a small chunk of amber.

“Yes? Do you need something?”

“Yes, could you follow me, please? I have something I need to tell you.” His eyes darted erratically, as if he had just heard an Aerocuda and was waiting for it to strike.

“Do you need help? I can call for the Sage.”

“No! Don’t do that. Just, come with me, and step only where I step. Keep your head low.”

Marilyn was at first reluctant to follow someone she had never met before, but she had been longing for some kind of fun ever since she had come to Unico Manor. Also, he seemed like he truly needed help, and Marilyn was always one to help.

She crouched down from the desk and followed his footsteps carefully. It seemed like he was only staying in the shadows, and it seemed like he had meticulously planned this route for a while.

She then came to a corner, where there was a small bush, and they stopped.

“Yes? What did you want to tell me?”

Suddenly, he crushed the amber in his hand. There was a small flash of energy. He then grabbed her hand, pulled her into the bush and she felt a surge of energy.

Marilyn stepped into the training room once again. The door behind her closed, and a platform rose into the center of the floor. On it was an UnicoBot.

Apparently, UnicoBots were the main product of Unico Industries. They were commonly bought for defense, although they had many other purposes, such as field work, construction, and combat training.

Marilyn held the training weapon steady and then reached out with her power. As the UnicoBot activated and started advancing toward her, she cast a Stasis on it and tried to get behind it.

However, the spectral chains shattered almost instantly, and she barely had time to dart to the side. She regained her balance and then rethought her plan.

She gripped the Charge Stone on her necklace. The Sage had equipped it with some sort of strange device, which would supposedly help her use her power. She flipped on the switch, and it flared to life. She reached out with her power again.

This time, when she cast Stasis, the chains were much stronger, and they were able to hold the Guardian tight enough for her to get in a few hits.

The UnicoBot also seemed to recalculate, and then it darted away from her. It then started shooting off projectiles toward her.

She dodged several and managed to cast Stasis on a few, but it was difficult to hold them. She was about to be bombarded by them when they all halted midair.

Beth Unico stepped into the training room, his bionic arm outstretched. The gemstone, which she had learned was a Sacret Stone, was glowing with Sheikah Energy.

“I didn’t just give you that Amplifier to cast a stronger Stasis. Try something different this time. Cough cough Recall cough cough.” He winked at her.

As he left, she rolled her eyes. She had only recently learned about Recall, and now he expected her to be able to cast it? True, he had given her this weird gadget, but Recall was apparently much more difficult than other spells. Regardless, she would put in her best effort, as Beth had told her to.

The UnicoBot stuttered back to life and began shooting projectiles at her again. She dodged a few times and then reached out with her power again. This time, she didn’t try to cast a Stasis and instead just tried to push against it.

There was a flash of energy, and then she was hit by the missiles with enough force to knock her down. She stumbled back to her feet, and the Sage held the rest of the missiles back.

“What happened? I tried pushing against them.”

Beth Unico seemed truly intrigued.

“Fascinating. It seems that instead of slowing the passage of time of the missiles, you sped them up. That would mean… that you could make things move faster. Truly fascinating!”

“Ok, that’s cool and all, but I still want to learn how to cast Recall.”

“Yes, I suppose we should focus on that. I would ask Princess Zelda- er, just Zelda- to teach you, but I’m afraid she’s rather busy. I’ll try to explain it to you to the best of my ability. Come, come.”

As she followed his billowing cape out of the room, she noticed small amounts of a honey-like substance dripping on the floor. As she watched, the Temporal Fluid drained into pockets on the floor, and it was like it was never there.

Training with Stalraiser was much different than her training with Beth Unico. With Beth Unico, her combat training focused on fighting one, strong enemy. However, with Stalraiser, he focused on fighting hoards of weaker enemies.

Marilyn drew her boomerang, which she was starting to prefer over a dagger. Getting the throwing angle right had proved to be hassle, but with Recall it was a very advantageous weapon, as she could throw it, it would circle back around to her, and right before she would catch it, she would cast Recall on it, causing it to trace back its path again, and any enemies that had moved to the path while it was away would also be attacked.

Stalraiser took his typical position on the podium in the back of the training room, and the pale Charge Stone on his forehead glowed.

Skeletal monsters began to unearth themselves around the room, pushing themselves up from the dirt. When this had first happened, Marilyn was concerned that the cavern used to be filled with monsters, but Stalraiser assured her that his magic was creating the skeletons.

As the various Stalkoblins, Stalmoblins, and Stalzalfos stood up, their eyes glowed, which was Marilyn’s cue to start fighting.

She hurled her boomerang, knocking the heads off of a few of the monsters, then cast a strong Recall, bringing it back swiftly as opposed to the normal slow pace. She cast a few Stasis spells on some of the Stalzalfos, which was a skill she had only recently learned, then threw her boomerang yet again.

Despite this, though, the skeletal monsters continued to close in until she was using her boomerang like a dagger. This had happened all the previous times, and Marilyn was starting to get frustrated with the repetition.

Suddenly, all the monsters stood up straight and then collapsed, their bones quickly sinking back into the ground. Stalraiser stepped down from the podium, pinching the bridge of his nose as he typically did when he was about to lecture Marilyn about something or other.

“Okay, what did I do wrong this time?”

“You did a lot of things right. You were using Stasis and Recall practically, and you’ve gotten much better with your boomerang. However, I can’t help but wonder… isn’t there anything else you can do with your magic?”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, with me, I can raise Stal enemies, hence my name, but I also have other spells. I can make bone weapons, I can control dead bone in general, and I can create Zircon-metal.”

“Wait, what was that last thing?”

“Zircon-metal. It’s metal made from Zircon.”

“Yeah, what’s Zircon?”

“Don’t tell me you don’t know your magic chart! Wow, you really are uneducated. Zircon is a gemstone, which contains Stal magic. If I was to absorb a Zircon gemstone, I would be able to cast a spell as if I had a Charge Stone.”

“Oh, like Xauren did with Amber!”

“Yes, yes! The young lad used to have a Charge Stone, but when he began to spy on the Sage of Sheikah, he gave it up so he wouldn’t notice him. Now, as I was saying, if you were to melt down a Zircon gemstone, you would get Zircon-metal. It doesn’t have nearly as much magic in it as a Zircon gemstone, but I can create it with my magic.”

“So… you’re saying that I could create Temporal Fluid-metal or something like that?”

“Yes, I do believe that you would be able to create that metal, but we could call it Time-metal for conciseity.”

“Okay, that’s great! How do I make it? What do I do?”

“Well, it’s really difficult to say. How I would put it is that your magic is kind of like a muscle. The more you use the magic, the more things you will be able to do. Unfortunately, like muscles, nobody can really tell you how to do them. This is especially difficult, considering how we don’t share a magic type, so if I were to say ‘It’s kind of like downcasting a Summon spell’ it doesn’t mean anything to you. So, best advice I can give you is just experiment with your spells. Go around, talk to other magic users, see what they have to say. You might just be talking to someone someday, and something might just click, and you’ll figure it out.”

Marilyn and Flavian continued following the Zora and Chieftain Riju outside of town, where they met up with the rest of the Zora convoy, which had finished setting up a large tent.

Flavian went to say something, but Riju started talking, so Marilyn quickly quieted her so she could listen.

“Hello Muzu. It’s so wonderful for you to have come all this way to Gerudo Town to speak with me. I don’t mean to be rude, but why is Sidon not here?”

“That’s King Sidon to you, young lady, and why he isn’t here is none of your business.” The way the elderly green Zora spoke indicated barely hidden seething, and the fact that he believed that he was superior to all of the people around him. “Why we’re here is to discuss the blatant attack on Zora’s Domain by your people!”

The Chieftain’s bodyguard stepped forward, but Riju stopped her with an extended hand. “Peace, Buliara.” Her nose twitched into a sneer for half a second, but then she regained her composure and put on a pleasant face. “I’m sorry to hear that Zora’s Domain was attacked, but you must be mistaken, as the Gerudo would never do such a thing.”

“Well of course I didn’t mean you ordered an attack, I was more so saying that your people attacked Zora’s Domain. And by that I mean the Yiga Clan. They are your people, are they not?”

Riju turned away from Marilyn and Flavian’s hiding corner, so they couldn’t see her face. “I’ve tried to control the Yiga Clan many times, to the point of making a siege against their base in the Gerudo Highlands. We’ve also declared treason on them, but they continue to persist.”

“Well clearly you aren’t trying hard enough, especially considering the force of the invasion on Zora’s Domain. If I am allowed to make a suggestion, you should publicly execute the traitors to discourage anyone else from joining!”

“No. I’m not going to hold public executions, much less of my own people! We’re doing everything we can to control them—”

“Well clearly you aren’t doing enough! At this point, I’m tempted to tell King Sidon that you have declared war on us, because you are refusing to take action against the Yiga Clan!” He turned away and muttered something, which Buliara clearly picked up on.

“What was that, Muzu?”

“Oh, you want to know what I said? I said you’re probably too scared, with you being the youngest leader of the Gerudo of this time. That’s probably why you won’t hold a public execution, because you’re too scared.”

Riju stood up, with her earring sparking. She leaned in to stare into the elderly Zora’s face, then straighted up and turned to leave, with Buliara in tow. As she exited the tent, Muzu started yelling obscenities at her, up until a bolt of lightning struck the ground about 10 feet from him.

Flavian shook Marilyn’s shoulder, more urgently this time, and Marilyn realized that she could see her clearly now. She looked down at her own hands, and realized that she wasn’t cloaked anymore.

“I was trying to tell you earlier that I was almost out, and now I don’t have any more.” She gasped, and then pointed out into the desert, where an orange circle of sparks appeared. “We need to go, now!”

As they started running, Marilyn tried to protest. “But they’ll see us, and we’ll get in trouble!”

“It’s better than being stuck in the desert overnight! Come on!”

As they ran up to the portal, Marauder uncloaked and scowled at them. “What are you doing here!? Were you following us?” Not waiting for an answer, he shoved them through the portal, which promptly closed behind them. As they got up, the other members of the group left, leaving just them and Marauder to stare at each other.

He just looked at them for a moment, and then spoke in a low voice. Marilyn didn’t like when people spoke like this, as it was much more threatening to her than if they were yelling.

“Do you know why we don’t bring new recruits on missions?”

“Is it because—”

“I AM TALKING! Why we don’t bring new recruits on missions, is because often these missions are very dangerous. Life-threatening, some might say. The other reason is because if you hadn’t made it to the portal, you would’ve been stuck in the desert overnight, with nothing except your own wits. Third, is that you are a prime target for anyone or anything looking for… argh, the point is that it’s very dangerous out there. Marilyn!”

She startled at the sudden direction at her.

“I know you were the one who convinced Stealthcloud to do this. While you might think you’re invincible with your high-and-mighty Time magic, you’re not! Anyone, or anything, can kill you, at any time! That’s why we have you stay behind. At least until you finish your training. Speaking of which, that begins today. Go see Stalraiser, and he’ll start your training.”

Not wanting to be yelled at again, she quickly turned and ran back to the inside of the cave, where she found the maroon-haired Hylian. As he led her to her training, she saw Flavian walk in, now with an angry red mark on the side of her face.

Marilyn slowly became accustomed to how the group led by Marauder worked. A few times a week, those with Charge Stones would go out and either attack & steal from the rich or help the poor. She only came on a few of these missions, due to Marauder and others insisting that she wasn’t ready.

However, today when she was turned down for the fourth time in a row, she decided that she would come anyway.

She headed back to the sleeping quarters that were filled with niches of Hyruleans, most still asleep. She crept up to Stealthcloud’s niche and rapped on the stone wall. It wasn’t very loud though, and it hurt her knuckles, so she instead gently shook her shoulder.

Stealthcloud gasped as she awakened, as if she was coming up for air after spending too long underwater. She looked around panickedly, then relaxed slightly when she saw Marilyn.

“Oh, it’s you. Why did you wake me up?”

“I want to follow the mission today, but they told me not to go.”

“Then you shouldn’t go!” She wrapped her blanket back around her and turned away.

“Come on, Stealthcloud, please? They aren’t bringing their weapons, and Shadowshroud is going with them, so it’s a stealth mission. Besides, I feel like I’m missing a lot, and this could be good practice for your magic.”

Stealthcloud lifted their head slightly, brushed their blonde hair out of their eyes, made eye contact with Marilyn, raised an eyebrow, and then dropped their head again.

“Come on, we’re going.” Marilyn pulled aside her blankets and grabbed her wrist. She pulled her up to stand, and Stealthcloud finally gave a grumble of defeat and grabbed her satchel.

They ran along, and crouched near the entrance as the portal opened. Despite the darkness of the dawn, the light from the other side of the portal was nearly blinding. As her eyes adjusted, Marilyn saw sand, stretching off to the horizon, with small towns dotting the desert landscape.

The Gerudo Desert. Marilyn hadn’t ever been there, but she had heard a lot about it and seen pictures in her schoolbooks. However, the pictures hadn’t conveyed the immensity and scale of the desert.

Stealthcloud grabbed her hand, and she felt the subtle wave of Stealth magic wash over her. They ran quietly up to the portal and stepped through right before it closed.

The group with Marauder suddenly vanished, with no trace of even their outlines visible. That was good and well too, since the sun created harsh shadows.

Speaking of which, Stealthcloud and Marilyn’s outlines and shadows were still relatively visible. They quickly ducked behind a Voltfruit Cactus, and thought quietly for a moment.

“Well what now, miss ‘I wanted to follow them’?”

“Give me a minute, I’m thinking.”

Okay, so they’re probably going to head to either Gerudo Town or the Kar Kar Bazar. Since we’re both women, we shouldn’t have a problem getting into Gerudo Town. That’s weird, by the way, why do they have it so that only women can enter Gerudo Town? I mean, except for the Chosen Warrior, but he’s an exception for everything— wait, what the Depths is that?

Despite being nearly half a kilometer away from the main road, it became apparent to Marilyn that there was a small convoy of what appeared to be Zora traveling towards Gerudo Town. Marilyn quickly brought it to Stealthcloud’s attention, and she confirmed it.

They got closer, darting between cacti and small ruins, which Marilyn was surprised to see. Apparently, these types of ruins used to be very common all across Hyrule, but most of them in the main provinces had been restored. To see so many, scattered randomly about, was a very odd prospect to Marilyn.

They got relatively close to the convoy, and they were able to pick out fragments of phrases, but nothing clearly. They crossed over a bridge over the desert rift, which had opened during the Upheaval, and they finally arrived at the walls of Gerudo Town.

The convoy immediately began setting up a large canvas to protect them from the sun, and a few Zora, who Marilyn presumed were women, headed inside the town.

Marilyn and Stealthcloud went to follow them, when one of the guards at the entrance dropped her spear across the entrance.

They both froze, and the tall Gerudo lady very slightly turned her head, facing them without making eye contact.

Marilyn went to step forward, holding her breath, when the guard spoke, keeping her voice low and still not making eye contact.

“Sav’aaq, young vai. You know I can see you, correct?”

Marilyn looked down at her arms, but the outline was only barely visible.

“I’m a Stealth Magic user, like your vai companion. I’ve trained so that I can see people cloaking themselves. Now, what are your intentions to enter Gerudo Town?”

“Uh… we were just going to follow those Zora…”

“As long as you aren’t trying to sneak in illegal materials or cause trouble, I don’t particularly care. Just wanted to let you know that you aren’t completely hidden.”

The Gerudo raised their spear, and she and Stealthcloud proceeded into the sunlit town.

For a desert town, it was surprisingly colorful, and was much cooler than the rest of the desert, due to the small rivers flowing through the town and the tall palm trees lining the paths. Marilyn and Stealthcloud ran forward to catch up to the Zora, and they advanced up the steps to the town hall.

Marilyn stopped right outside the hall, but Stealthcloud continued in.

“Stealthcloud!” Marilyn hissed at her, and she crept back over and hid with her.

“By the way, that’s not my name.”

“What? What’s your name, then?”

“Flavian. I don’t know why Marauder insists on calling everyone code-names, but everyone has actual names.”

“Really? That’s interesting… Oh, they’re coming back, let’s go.”

As they were about to turn to follow the Zora, Marilyn felt a… presence exiting the building. She turned, and she saw someone who was very clearly in charge.

As she stepped out, her golden crown hit the light, illuminating her youthful face. She wore a black skirt with golden medallions covering it, and she wore armor that, while highly decorative, held enough structure to indicate that it could take a few blows. Her red hair was cropped short, and bundles of it indicated the fullness of her hair.

As her gold tipped heels clicked out into the full sun, her twin scimitars in their golden sheaths glinted in the sunlight, along with her earring.

Her earring was a much more powerful weapon than the twin scimitars, however. For in her earring, was a golden Sacret Stone.

As Marilyn recognized this, her breath caught in her throat, and she immediately bowed, even though she couldn’t see her.

This was Lady Makeela Riju, High Chieftain of the Gerudo, and the Sage of Lightning.
