Top publishing executives in New York and elsewhere are among the readers of the mailing list we send out daily.  It’s free. You can sign up here to receive the e-mail versions of our latest posts. Via the MailChimp service, which TeleRead has just started using, the mailings will look a <em>lot</em> better than before.

E-book museum will open in Paris. Donate your old e-readers. And how about a U.S. museum, too?

As the world’s oldest site devoted to general-interest news and views on e-books, we joke about TeleRead being a virtual museum since we go back to the 1990s.

What’s more, as long ago as 2003, I called in TeleRead and Slashdot for an international e-book museum at the Library of Congress. It isn’t too late for one there or at the Smithsonian. Let us forever remember the Rocketbook eBook and breth…

Better-looking e-mails ahead from TeleRead—and what to do before the change

Each day, TeleRead sends out e-mails of the freshest posts—reaching everyone from self-publishers to people at Big Five houses. Alas, the current Feedburner e-mail system offers less than stellar formatting, especially as seen on iPads and iPhones.

So later this week we’ll switch to the MailChimpservice, in hopes of providing better-looking e-mails. If that doesn’t work, we’ll move on from there.…

It was a no brainer. A cool new company loved an article that TeleRead Editor Chris Meadows had written without commerce in mind, and its offerings should delight many lovers of books and other media. You’ll soon be seeing sponsored content from it, here on TeleRead.
