Ariwara-no-Narihara 在原業平 (825-880)
Narihara était un aristocrate, 5ème fils du Prince impérial Abo 阿保親王 (792-842), fils de l'empereur Heizei (51) 平城天皇 (774-824 r. 806-809).
Narihira laisse de nombreux poèmes regroupés dans un recueil privé, le Narihira-shū 業平集. Plusieurs d'entre-eux seront compilés dans les anthologies impériales postérieures. Un poème sera également repris par Fujiwara no Sadaie 藤原定家 (1162-1241) dans son Hyakunin Isshu 百人一首 (n° 17).

Rentré cette nuit sans vous voir les larmes ont trempé ma manche plus encore que la rosée du matin
où je m'en retournais, écartant les bambous nains de la lande d'automne.
