Summary:

She and Viago are also both considered something of a problem for their superiors, Teia has noticed.

Teia doesn’t mind so much. She actually quite likes problems. She’s following Viago’s moves with keen interest.

With all that watching she has come to know him in a way, even though they have barely spoken to each other. So perhaps most important of all Teia knows that Viago de Riva is not a cruel man.

They do not know each other- not really. Teia doubts if they have said more than five sentences to each other. But they know each other, because they are both grandmasters and it is their job to keep an eye out on the competition- even if they are from other houses. They are also both considered something of a problem for their superiors, Teia has noticed. It is obvious when you look at Viago for more than five seconds that he is not the sort of man to ever be satisfied. His Talon has to know that Viago is a knife waiting to strike. And yet, he is so very good at what he does, that House de Riva is obviously loathe to get rid of him. That and his royal connections, which you never know when will come in handy. Meanwhile Teia is a problem because she is unorthodox. She is a nobody elf who has somehow made it to grandmaster and has started showing up her human colleagues. She likes to kill men who deserve it, and she is never cruel to her fledglings. She also has a knife pointed at her own Talon’s back, but he doesn’t need to know that.
