Wilford is not a man that gets easily scared. There's only two things that have truly scared him in this world. One: Terrence's razer sharp teeth, and two: the time Terrence bit clean through an assassin's arm.
Terrence didn't find it strange in the slightest to have razor sharp teeth, but even he was slightly freaked out after the assassin incident, he was only trying to disarm the man's weapon, not disarm the man literally.
Of course rumors started that Terrence was some type of animal or mutant, but Terrence was just an ordinary fellow, with really sharp teeth, that he eventually filed down soon after the incident.
Wilford was thankful of Terrence for doing that, even though the nightmares of that day still haunt him.
