Galekh had always considered himself to be an analog type. With all the world at his fingertips as one of the highest of the high amongst landdwelling society back home, one would think he would indulge in a little higher tech living here and there, but he preferred to keep things simple. Suppose he read as a little old fashioned, vine covered mansion housing mostly a haphazard study and a library much larger than any one man could ever need, but that was how he liked it. Not too complicated, not too new, not too automated.
...Well, except for that new coffee machine he picked up recently. Though he'd never give up the manual press tucked away snug in its spot in the corner of his countertop, the new one was starting to grow on him in both its convenience and flavor.
Despite his mostly higher tech free life, he eventually began to feel like it was something he was missing out on. And so, he set out to one of the many tech stores in his home ward, an almost impulsive move on his part
He didn't really know what he was looking for, to be honest. Probably a security system - but Golden was rather safe, despite his proximity to the university. Maybe one of those virtual assistants - but he didn't particularly like the idea of some company listening in on him. Eventually, he settled on the idea of grabbing himself a new laptop. Sure could use an upgrade, and he knew he'd have enough dust to cover the purchase. Though as he arrived, he realized he really was in a world he didn't much understand.
All the numbers, the classifications, the makes and models and everything else sent his thinkpan in spirals - this was something he had never really taken the time to learn about. Though he couldn't deny that he felt a little lucky as someone he didn't particularly recognize stepped into the aisle with him, a look on their face like they knew exactly what they were looking for. Maybe they could help him out?
"Pardon me, but you seem like you might know a lot about this sort of thing."
"I'm in need of a new computer, but I don't know enough about models and such to know which one is the best choice."
