Phantom Thief

   Considering Neito’s habitually bossy nature Haru assumed he was doing his boyfriend a favour by ceding so quickly, but apparently, this is one of the rare times Neito actually wants to debate. 

“No it’s ok, that sounds good actually.”

“It’s probably better to check who has the biggest room first right?”

Catch Monoma perking up at the idea that he originally planned. Having Haru go along with it would make the blonde even happier, slinging his arm around the other’s shoulder before laughing.

“Neito, I invite you into my room all the time–You’re the one who chickens out.”

“I just assumed you wouldn’t wanna move into my room.” 

“But ok, who is staying over whose?”

“Say less, I’ll get packing right away.”

Coming to enjoy the sights of Cotes’ natural mysteries, Aichi hadn’t been entirely sure he was the intended audience of the voice that spoke out until facing the other boy. “I haven’t looked after one before, but they’re cute so it might be nice to have one living with you”. The animal caught his eye, drawing it to the centre of his vision. It was surprisingly friendly with the blond, so much so that it didn’t scamper away at the sight of another human. In fact, he couldn’t recall any rabbit being so tame and comfortable that it wouldn’t simple make a dash if given the chance.

“Is there something that’s complicating you keeping them? You seem awfully close; maybe there’s a way we can resolve the issue without the two of you having to be separated”. A thoughtful look claimed the gentleness with which he watched the rabbit. “Could it be someone arrived from a recent eclipse who isn’t tolerable of rabbits, or pets in general? It’s not right that they should make demands that aren’t accommodating to everyone".

“....HUH?”

That was not something the hero expected. Monoma was expecting something like ‘Oh sure I can take this little rabbit off your hands.’ or ‘I can’t do anything about it but I’ll distract it for you so you can make an escape.’ Not to come up with the two to live with one another. There really isn’t any issue... but does he even think he is capable of or even WANTING to take care of an animal like this!?

Haru doesn’t so much as flinch when teeth come chomping down on his fingers, sending a  sharp pain shooting all the way up his arm. But, his fingers remain firmly jabbed into the other’s mouth, swirling around the cavity in order to get a grip on the appendage he fully intends to tear out as threatened until a connecting fist comes to clock him around the jaw with surprising force–Enough to topple him off balance a little and slide his fingers out of the boy’s mouth. 

“Bastard!”

He snarls, grey eyes darkening like a storm as he quickly regains composure after having some of it knocked out of him. His fist balls tightly and within a second he’s pouncing back on the blond, arm pulled all the way back so that he can pummel the little shit-talking punk with all the strength he can muster. His fist comes swinging, aiming straight for the other’s cheek only when it’s about to hit–His entire body freezes, as if an invisible lasso had just wrapped around his wrist, stopping the assault. 

“Huh?” 

He tries again, but the same thing happens. Each time his fist was about to connect with the boy’s face, his body stopped him. Even his mind seemed to be screaming out against hurting the other, despite him threatening Yuki. It didn’t make any sense…But his rage seems to subside. Sitting upright, he rolls himself off the blond, ascending a hand to his cranium which is still pounding. 

“Ugh…My head”

The punch did not give Monoma enough time to get on his feet as quickly as he would have liked. The other was just a tad bit quicker to pin him down, prepared for the worst. What was it that one had to do to lessen the pain? Clench your jaw and raise your arms to cover your head. The most important part of anyone’s body to avoid very serious damage. Doing just that, he was prepared for the impact, waiting for Hatsuharu’s fist to connect with his own body.

But the punch never came. It felt like the air around them both had froze in place.

It was those agonizing few seconds that made the blonde open his eyes and look at the other, feeling him roll off the hero. It left him confused for a moment, but he wasn’t going to let that slide so easily. Monoma took that chance to scoot himself back, standing up in need to give him one more satisfying punch. 

There was no reason to find himself in Cotes, especially around some big trees that would be useful for one of his classmates to scout over. No, the reason why he was hear was to drop off a rabbit that wondered too far from where it appear to live. Though there was one small problem; the rabbit didn’t want to leave the hero’s side. It wasn’t as if he did not like animals, but he didn’t believe to have done anything major to warrant it’s attention towards him. Despite others outside his class seeing him as spoil or rotten or just plain rude; even though it is his own fault he displays those features for the public, did not mean that he wanted others to know that he was actually very kind.

Kind... is a strong word Monoma wouldn’t admit. Giving another exasperated sigh, the boy looked around to see if maybe someone else will have better luck taking him back into the forest. Light blue eyes scanning the area, he caught sight of someone that look to have a bit more patience then he has.

It wasn’t every day that Monoma would be able to stop a someone from robbing a small shop. He just happen to be at the right place at the right time. Of course there was no way Monoma would even think about letting this person go. The good part about this city is that it’s easy to use whatever power was in hand and use it to your advantage. This wasn’t the case here, but it would have been very cool to show himself off more. He did the normal civilize thing and tip the man from running away before he was able to run any further. Others came around to take hold of the bags that was stolen from the shop as Monoma cleared his throat to announce himself. 

“What stroke of luck I have! You can all thank me later on, but do remember, if you ever need any help, don’t hesitate to call upon me, the Phantom Thief to help you in your aid!”
